As far as I know I am not blocking any ads. What sort of software would I have to have to result in the "blocking ads" screen?

I see the ads so I assume they aren't blocked.

I don't have ad blocking but the ads don't come up anyway, and on other sites they do come up....technical error?

I am using google chrome, as far as I know I have no ad blocking software running this site. Now I am getting this block as well. If it is on my end and I can do something about it, let me know. I will be more than happy to disengage anything I may unknowingly be running.

What's going on?

Same here I see the ads ......too....

If this is going to be the new norm, can I ask for the ATS IP add...so I can add you as a trusted site..

What the ???

I'm not using any adblocker programs, ... I can see it all .....

why am I getting this prompt, ... and how do I take care of it ???

seems like whatever software you may be using to detect these adware mavericks may be faulty.

Im getting a stupid big thing at the top of the site

"It looks like you're using some kind of software designed to block advertising while surfing our site.

We work very hard to provide an efficient Internet presence that services over 200,000 daily visits from people and automated web spiders. A large web site like this, that can handle that amount of traffic, is increasingly expensive to operate. Our only source of revenue (for now) are the ads displayed on each page, which typically represent less than three percent of the "square footage" of our content pages.

If you enjoy our content, please enable our domain in your ad-blocking package.

Thank you.

FALSE! I'm NOT using any sort of blocker, I see ads on every other website or even when I log OUT of ATS - I see ads. Not my fault they dont display when im logged in...

I'm at work and don't think I have an ad block.

Anyway, I clicked more information and the announcement went away

I was just in a thread about hacking and thought somebody took revenge.

What's the deal?

I have no ad blocker. I even switched over to IE
from Firefox and still got the same issues.

Sounds like you may have ad ware somewhere on your computer. I'd recommend cleaning that off. I do not receive any pop ups with ad block plus.

Okay guise, you've taken this a touch too far:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/files/4d503a01744b8597.png[/atsimg]

Is what appear above my 'Recent Posts' element now (Scroll along to see it all if need be, or copy URL to browser for full image)

Funny thing is I don't use AdBlocking Software (here at least - I use Google Chrome which let's me see your adverts, I actually don't mind them!!).

You want to go on a witchhunt then fine - just know that in doing so you are spitting in the face of your contributors and the message behind 'Deny Ignorance'.

Were I to use Adblocking software - you can bet your bottom dollar that I'd have scripts that would cover my butt too.

Quit picking on those obeying the rules without any evidence eh??

Some users may have received an errant message while new code was propagating between our servers, and during that process, may have been incomplete. I'm very sorry about that! (sheesh)

Just goes to show you how many pages-per second we're serving up.

There are many users that go to ATS from Work, these workers don't have a choice in regards to their options about clicking on adds.

It was an inconvenience of a few minutes.

Certainly not the end of the world.

Not in bad form, just happened. Now it seems to be done so no harm done.

Stuff happens. I know personally, I'll start expecting perfection the very next day after I'm able to deliver it. So no doubt, everyone's safe from that expectation as far as I'm concerned.
