Amazing, thanks for sharing. We sure live in an amazing part of the universe, then again it's the only part of the universe I have seen.

All i can say is, its gonna take a long time for mercury to reach jupiter... If it doesnt crash into earth along the way.

Coming from the guy with an Avatar profile picture. That was completely unnecessary.

Pretty amazing pictures, thanks for posting.

Agree, it's a damn shame that the vast body of UFO documentation should be sullied by such unwarranted arrogance. Many UFOlogists are astronomers and would laugh you off the stage if you tried to paint them as foolish "see-what-they-want-to-see" tin-foil hat wearers.

That aside, SOHO is easily one of the coolest satellites we've ever launched into space.

Mercury s a fast moving little planet that orbits the sun every 58.6 days, moving at 108,000 MPH. It is also believed to have an iron core, which makes its core as dense as Earth, supposedly with the densest core of any planet.

If Mercury were to slam into Jupiter, it would make quite the mess.

www.aerospaceguide.net...

Jupiter orbits the sun about every 12 years, so this perspective seeing Jupiter near Mercury will probably occur every two months for a while now, until Jupiter moves behind the sun, and then again when Jupiter comes out from behind the sun.

Remember when Jupiter and Venus were creating a smiley face with the moon last year?

Both planets as shown to the picture converge (come together) astrologically from the point of view while astrologically are still billions of miles apart. Astrologically and astronomically this is called a conjunction, but we really mean the bodies are conjugating from the Earth point of view.

Questions. Do all our planets revolve around the sun in the same direction?

Yes. That happens because everything in our solar system must have been created from a single interstellar mass, including the Sun itself. Pieces of that mass broke and cooled off thus planets start forming. That initial mass had a rotation and stellar bodies even cooled off never stopped to move and rotate to the same direction that mass was rotating.

Do the moons revolve around there planets in the same direction?

Most of them, primarily the bigger ones, since they have been probably created from their host planets in the same manner the planets broke away from the sun when everything was a fiery mass.

Or better yet! Where is a good source to find out? I have tried to you tube, not to sure about some of those models out there. ty

I have seen a lot of videos like this with SOHO images and I always wonder... WTH are the white things, which fly around, and there are so many of them, all over the picture...!? I dont mean the comets or planets or stars, no, I mean these small things which fly around, they just move and no one ever mentions them.. Please explain

I know some of them are meteorites or asteroids, but not ALL of them for g*ds sake

I thought they were UFOs!

Anyway, that's what the believers see! Gigantic alien ships near the Sun!

This in no way relates to those earth sized "objects" or giant stations close to the sun, those were far closer and kind of validated the electric sun theory and much of what John Lear talks about, in fact he had some things to say about them on another forum.

This is a interesting convergence, because the optical illusion suggests these planets are close when they're so far away.

They could be cosmic and/or solar particles interacting with the satellite.

There's a lot going on up there.

Chad, I wonder if this "convergence" of planets will align and form the inter-system, Chinese, Mayan prophecy when all the planets align and we orbit straight through the center of the galaxy and panic and doom and gloom.

I am just kidding. I've read a ton of posts on this and wanted to add my humor. Gotta love SOHO. It is amazing and quite spectacular to watch the planets in orbit. I am patiently waiting for the Venus orbit in front of the Sun somewhere in 2012.

Now THAT will be a good show!
