Mystic light and 'Crop Circle' on iced lake [Norway]

I just came across THIS article. (Norwegian)

A 77 years old man from Arna, outside Bergen in the west of Norway, saw a mystic light out on the lake one evening, about 6ft wide, unlike anything he had seen before. He could spot noone with his binoculars, and due to the risk of falling through the ice, he did not investigate until the day after. The following day, a strange, symmetric pattern covered the lake. Any ideas on this one?

Wow thats awesome!

Nothing about the pattern seems to suggest that it is a message or "crop circle" of any kind; there is nothing to say that this isn't some kind of natural phenomena... but nonetheless it is quite breathtaking.

Thanks for the interesting find! All these mysterious spiral shaped phenomenons are starting to get a little coincidental in my mind. Who knows what the intention is of the creators but it is hard for me to believe this is a natural phenomenon that just has NEVER been seen before. Time to start thinking outside the box folks...too many strange/unexplainable events happening around us daily now.

strange..its not a crop circle but i cant think of anything that could make a shape like that......it could be natural...or some kind of ship :O

Looks similiar to the geometric and symetric effets of sound resonance.

Sorry not best at embeedement but check this picture. It is making designs using sound waves; marks on that ice look somewhat similar to this. Tell me what you think;

I don't think you need a UFO for this. It's just natural freezing. All the circles are concentric. Some are intersecting concentric from areas that didn't freeze. It just froze in stages. Take a look at this picture, and then consider it happening over and over.

I have seen similar things on ponds up north.

Actually this may be a more likely explanation:

I am not sure to believe what caused that. Maybe something very small fell with an very high speed in those cores?

Could be a natural Ice Dendrite formation, with releases of Methane or waste under the Lake which ignited from a external source and caused the rippling. Methane doesn't burn but rather expands with 2 oxygen particles to replace the 1 particle of Methane burnt, this expansion would have led to rapid degassing from where the centre of the Dendrite origionates.

That is a lot of water that was poured then...Look at the scale of the place in the first picture, the house is in the corner.

Also all the lines coming out of the circle pattern go in a outward direction 360 degrees so i don think that is run off. Unless the center is higher than the edges.

Just to throw it out there...
Not argueing it to be true...but...
Many ponds small lakes are spring fed from their depths...
Ground water..unless I'm mistaken is a 60 F around the world ..give or take a few degrees.
heat rises, and needs a vent, the reason for the rings you see are fom differing temps of re-freezing over night.
But hey I'm just guessing here.

Looks like something hot enough and with enough force hit the lake, melted the water and re-froze in place. The bigger ring hit 1st followed by the smaller rings. Meteorite, space junk? Who knows. Someone should search the lake when it gets warmer.

I would be curious to know the temperature at the time this happened. It looks like it came straight down, perpendicular to the lake. Thats kind of strange in itself. A better description of the light would help too.
