You know, you have a great idea for a thread there. I've been following your one on the Annunaki with great interest, so I hope you go for it.
I'm sure if it was you or I with the technology and resources to go off and photograph the stars and planets we'd come haring back with the results,
enthusiastically showing the pictures to everyone and anticipating making a fortune by reproducing them on T-Shirts.
I might be a bit naive but I like to think of the Space Agencies having a similar enthusiasm, and a desire to share their knowledge in the hope of
enlightening us all.
But at this stage I think we have to accept that the images we see are an approximation of the reality. Whether or not there is some elite who have
access to far more accurate and detailed information than we are allowed to know is a bit beyond the scope of this thread.
The universe is a vast place and it's amazing to me that someone can send off a camera millions of miles into space and it manages to send back
pictures. You'd wonder that it doesn't run out of film
I would take issue with your phrase 'god given resources' - at the moment I believe it is man-made technology and taxes that get us into space and
whoever pays the piper and all that....
I take hope from the example of the notebooks and diaries of the early European explorers / scientists who recorded everything they found in the far
corners of the globe. I don't know how much of the information was available to the common man of the time, but they brought the information back and
we can all see today how accurate it was. Eventually it became common knowledge - so I hope the same goes for all the wonderful things found in
space.
If you can bear it, take a look at this thread. It's one of mine and shows a mind boggling graphic of the scale of the Earth and Moon in relation to
other planets and stars:
