In these Olympics, Canadians only paid attention to Canada

Here is what I do not understand?

Why are they complaining about the local coverage?

Canada doesn't have all the newsies. We don't have CNN or MSNBC or ESPN, or the Russian newsies, or the Asian Newsies.

I mean if most of the world news feeds came from Canada to begin with, I might understand the consternation.

But we don't.

Why aren't your newsies covering it?

Personally I love this article. It shows up just how stupid the reporter is, and thus, saves me the time of reading his drivel ever again.

"Oh no, the CANADIANS were wearing CANADIAN jerseys and shirts since the lympics were held in CANADA." I'm trying to figure out how this is even news worthy. I'm pretty sure there were Americans with team USA stuff on, Russians with team Russia, etc etc.

I was very inspired by the games in canada, great show, great people. My wife even wants to visit there. There patrorism was brillant, the close relationship they had with their people was great.

This guy just cant see somthing good when its there, Canada showed the world and it's much respected from those in the U.K.

I'm glad that there are non-Canadians who see how ridiculous this is. It's very disheartening to read the attacks.

I haven't seen this much unity and patriotism in Canada since ... well, I'm not that old. But it was amazing as we're at times such a self deprecating bunch.

If it makes any anti-Canadians feel better, not every Canadian was happy with ourselves. A few of my friends criticized our athletes and slogan; they are downers who think they're just so smart, but that's all it is.

The only downside is that it made watching the Leafs game just days afterward extremely anti-climatic.

Thank you everyone for making this thread blossom into a great discussion! I am extremely relieved to see many non-Canadians agreeing that this guy is a pompous ass.

Those who are disheartened to see the amount of nationalism... What do you expect to see when hosting an international games? To see our athletes hold their own, and set a record for gold medals acquired built up my national pride!

Then again, all it took was one simple announcement from our government to TOTALLY SMASH THAT DOWN, with talks of changing our national anthem to appease a few people (MASSIVE minority), who feel left out.

Go Canada.

Conservatives eye changes to national anthem (Canada)

Many, many, MANY, of the visitors from other countries were wearing them too, like I said, it felt like team WORLD, not team canada......we just wanted an excuse to welcome the world with hugs and high fives, and the world hugged us back...

If it were in the US, I would have bought and worn a US Jersy too if I were a tourist.

I think the fact is, that the worlds people are uniting more and more, and it is making the party poopers nervouse.

in my oppinion technically it is good to take pride in your accomplishments...if you have nothing else to take pride in...there are also levels and types of how you manifest yourself...this is no more than an observation for the moment i do not take a stand more than i just did

I don't blame Canadians - anybody who's ever tried to buy any popular tickets knows it's the dirty little secret of ticket industry.

Perhaps I should have not said anything about the picture, my bad. I was just commenting about her features - which look a bit masculine. Judging from her smile she's probably a very beautiful person inside and that's what really counts anyway.
