Here is a picture of the star

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/7df2e36f0808.jpg[/atsimg]

Notice the 7th point is pointing down. It also has a different design on it.

I tried to search for the reason for this, and when the police started using this symbol.

The original sheriff star was 5 pointed, with the point up. They also use a 6 pointed star.
But this seven pointed star is recent.

I don't know about you, but this star stirs up a Baphomet image to me.

And why is the point down??

I did a search of 7 point stars. Almost all that I found, have the point up. I did find one down. This one.
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/3b3121650761.jpg[/atsimg]

Notice how the 7th point, the downward point, is painted different. Notice the word Occultism? I got that picture from
lilium153.blogspot.com...

Kinda makes me wonder what they were thinking when they chose this symbol.

Any help on the origins, reasons, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would have thought with all the police on this site, someone would've chimed in.

Maybe no one knows?

I don't know about Satanic, but I perceive it as representing control. The pointing down could be a reflection of the brain stem, the binary cord, as everything in this world is a reflection of everything else, at least in one sense. And control loosing sight of the infinity within every human is destined to eat itself. Perhaps it could represent the self without recognition of an "other." This could be considered Satanic. Nevertheless, symbolic logic is everywhere, and I have chosen to ignore that which will bring me down. Ironically, I am not ignoring it now, but I generally do. I think this is wise, for if it is some sort of controlling logic, focusing on it creates the very patterns in you that you would like to avoid. Peace.

FYI
the Pagan star was invented by early Christians... they used it, like they used the fish symbol so members gathering in secret could recognize each other... each member drew one part of said symbol as proof they were who they claimed to be.... the Satanic star was made by taking that Christian star and inverting it (Flipping it upside down)

I personally think your reaching for a connection that just isn't there

Thanks for your reply. I would have to disagree with your statement.

I feel that once you are aware of it, you realize it's everywhere. Symbols are powerful and important.

Do we want people who would use a potentially Satanic symbol "protecting" the public?

That's my question. Why is the star inverted? It has to be purposeful, does it not?

I personally find it offensive that people who are hired because I pay my taxes, would use such a symbol.

I think it is quite the contrary. A Pagan symbol, yes. Satanic, no. The heptagram is a symbol used for protection; so I'd say it is quite well suited on someone who puts their life on the line on a daily basis.

Edit: Accidently typed heptagon instead of heptagram

Okay let's look at it another way...

Long before Hitlers Nazi symbol Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments date from the Neolithic period. The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit word svastika (in Devanagari स्वस्तिक), meaning any lucky or auspicious object...

But nowadays if you see a swastika you start thinking skinheads and seeing Nazis everywhere...

my point is there is another older meaning to that star and I think your making incorrect assumptions...

First off please learn to read Latin before just seeing occult and think that word is occultism actually the word in question the one on the right second word down is occultum. Which depending of the context can mean one of three things: hidden, concealed, or secretly. Now for the reason the downward point is black. Black is an a color that absorbs all the all the other colors and is used in protection. The word that the point is pointing to is Corpus which means body. Taking this into mind and all the rest of the content in the picture I am sure this belonged in some sort of book of spells or was made as a talisman. The purpose yes was to protect the person either wearing it or the people in a house that it was drawn on. Ohh and the word occult just means secret or hidden which during the rise of Christianity was required for any other religion to have any hope of not being completely erased.

Also don't get me wrong I don't hate Christian's I in point of fact believe in Jesus. I just don't agree with the doctrines of the Christian religion on what to do with non believers. That goes for Catholicism as well as all other religions that say to either hate, shun, convert or even kill non believers. Jesus above all taught patient, love and tolerance. He never once belittled another for his beliefs or for what they did. His teaching's on how to live and treat each other is what was important. Just so you know these are my beliefs and I in no way look down on others for believing the way they do unless it involves violence or hatred to others.

Ha Ha Ha!

Oops! Sorry. Was just having some fun w/ the Rapture thread.

As far as any symbol I have tracked down over the years any/all seem to
have been at some point been deemed Satanic by someone in the Christian department.

Modern Christians even freak about their own symbols after they have fallen out of use.

If it freaks you out try banishing the perceived evil with laughter and then
treat the wearers of said symbol with great respect whenever possible.

Ha Ha Ha! Really, Try It!
