Dwal, if you're saying what I think you're saying, did you just quote the Bible (1 Thess. 5:21) to nullify the parts of the Bible you think are wrong? How do you know which parts are correct? The verse you quoted refers to prophesy, and the same person who wrote that wrote that all scripture is God Breathed and is beyond reproach. How can it be both?

Iv'e been freed, completely freed of my sins and going around wondering where I come from, and am now completely happy. after reading that enslaving bible you call it.

What does enslave people are governments, communism, and a clueless wandering around of ones own existence where we can make our own idea of God.

Think about justice. Enslave ensalve, that's all we hear is enslave this. all that. So you OP have a justice installed in you.

So at what point does evil keep going? Can it create scriptures and bibles and religions without the source who created justice stepping in?

No. ofcourse not or justice which is a reality,it's in mans heart, is the one who founded his church and would not let evil tamper whith its distinct instructions for life.

If I created the world. I surely would teach my people about life and probably come to earth to visit my people. So why not God?

He's not an alien. Aliens are false. They were created by Satan to decieve man in the end times. The governm,ents in the 40s I presume created alien ships run onfree energy.

They would have takne this planet over long ago. it's all governement experiments which antichrist will use during his reign.

JIT you and I normally disagree on ALOT but I am with ya. I am not a Christian and I find this post to be very wonky. JIT will attest that I ask for actual concrete proof alot...heck I annoy him I am sure so let me defend the Christian stance here for a moment.

Yes we mostly agree the bible was written by man but where do you get the Alien Jesus? do you have proof of this?

Also it is a good idea when you post to make sure you put in comments on why or some evidence not just posting "I think X" and walking away. It's very trollish-feeling

Again...this is coming from a Wiccan...I have zero ties to Christianity but I will admit Christianity (even though I disagree with it) takes a heck a beating here in ATS

They way you know is by understanding. Tell me, how do you know which of the following equations are true?

1+1=2
3+4=5
3+4=8
3+4=7

Only by understanding of math can you look at those equations and pick out which 2 are true, and which 2 are false. Outside of that, you can memorize equations, but of course there is a limit to how many you could memorize, and understanding itself doesn't require memory of all etc.

And so if you look at Proverbs 8 and 9, you will see that it is understanding and wisdom that leads people in the correct manner.

Having the correct understanding - not memorization of the scripture - is key among those who keep the commandments(Psalm 111:10). Because knowledge of the holy is understanding(Proverbs 9:10), not memorization which comes from repetition.

The scribes/scripture were never meant to be taken as the authority they are seen in today. What do you think the people who wrote such heard to begin with? They were given the understanding and the bible is a collection of books where people tried to express those experiences. But today instead of people seeking those experiences, they just memorize scripture and so on.

What exactly do you even know about the bible? Anything at all?

What are you basing your opinion on? Because for everything you can name that religions do that is "bad/wrong" and such, I can show you were such things are specifically warned about or said not to do.

There is a big difference between what the bible actually says and what the religions and religious people do. Best thing you can do is remove what religious people and religion say from god etc.

I'm not a Christian and I don't worship the bible. But I think you would most likely be surprised to find out what is actually in the bible and what is said. It is more on your side than you think.

A better question is why do fools like you who have no understanding to start with would even post a thread like this? I know just to aggravate other Christians cause you get a kick out of it. Wanna know a secret? We get a better kick out of posts like these then you get out of posting them. Hahaha!

The bible is an amazing thing when understood for what it is, a witness to the word of god. The bible itself contains many positive lessons that, when put into the proper context, can be used for incredible good. But it is only a witness, some of it written many generations after the death of jesus.

The real teachings come from the life of jesus christ himself. Things like tolerance, love thy neighbor and whatnot.

Its not what i actually believe though, just putting it out there.

This is kind of funny because when you look at it from that perspective Jesus can be considered an Alien.

An Alien life force is transferred into the womb of a woman, and it grows just like a regular human. But later this being has special powers, because it is not from this earth. It can raise the dead, heal the sick, create food and walk on water.

Sounds like this could be the foundation of any good sci-fi movie these days about an alien coming to earth.

As for the bible being nonsense, opinions are not factual reality, the old saying is opinions are like a nose, everybody has one.

Did you even do research before you decided to bash Christianity and God's words. I don't think you did. You have no proof or evidents for your claims. I think most people that do a good research on the bible and where its from understand the evidents supporting the bible.
