Anyone think The Star of Bethlehem was a Ufo?

I am just wondering what you guys think about the Star of Bethlehem been a ufo? I was quite surprised when I googled this because it was just a thought I had after reading so many reports about bright white lights in our skies. Now I am starting to believe that it is a distinct possibility that it may have been a ufo. I cannot imagine people’s reaction to such an event all that time ago, but one’s things for sure, they couldn’t say that it was some top military aircraft back then

Have any of you guys googled this and if so what do you think?

Short answer, yes.

My personal view is that if the event really happened then it would have most certainly been ET that was guiding them. Many of them look like stars today yes. So this is quite possibly the earliest UFO sighting, swept up into what it is today. I doubt any devout Christian would want to believe the star of Bet was a UFO (aliens). But I think it was

Not googled it myself, just thought about it on quite a few occasions. I'd assume most UFO enthusiasts would have certainly given it a thought

The beings that came to this planet created us in their image and likeness. They were able to ascend and descend the heavens in their chariots, clouds and pillars. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the "star" was an actual ship in orbit.

Think of the verses in the bible that talk about the "mount". The gods told Moses to make a perimeter around the mount and that anyone that came near the mount, whether it be man or animal, shall surely be killed.

Firstly, what is a "mount"? Dictionaries say that a "mount" is a means of conveyance. So, to make a perimeter around a means of conveyance due to possible radiation issues would be logical. For a god to just kill off animals and humans for coming near wouldn't make sense, but if there were radiation issues, then yes animals and humans would likely be killed.

Other bibles have translated "mount" into "mountain" but how do you make a perimeter around a mountain? Where does a mountain end and begin to make a perimeter around it? Why would the gods kill off humans and animals for coming near the mountain? There would already be animals on the mountain, so I guess they would be instantly killed from god's wrath?

How about Acts 10:11

And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

Then in Acts 10:16

This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

What "vessel" could possibly have descended from the sky thousands of years ago and ascended back into the sky? Obviously by the verse it landed very gently like we land our helicopters.

Zechariah 5:1

Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. 2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

A flying roll? Some physical object was flying in the air thousands of years ago.

Isaiah 60:8

Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows

Exactly. Who were those intelligent beings that were flying like clouds and doves, thousands of years ago?

And for the OP, Matthew 2:9

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, til it came and stood over where the young child was.

So a "star" or some ship with lights flew across the sky from the east until it hovered over the young child.

It doesn't get much more clearer than this. There were physical objects flying around our skies thousands of years ago by intelligent beings that created us in their image and likeness.

BoneZ - Everything you have written seems to make sense, but the next question would be this - Why do you think this happened? If this was a ufo, do you feel this entity somehow created someone to teach use the error of our ways or was there another agenda to it?

Also, do you feel that this was a one of event or something that could occur again? I haven’t read the bible myself, but I find the verses you have picked out in your previous post astonishing. It seems to add to the theory that this was indeed a ufo, witnessed by people who could only write about what the saw.

Just a notion I've had in the past on this subject,

I think it was a relatively close Supernova. Close enough to light up the day and night sky, but far away enough to not cause damage as it were.

Supernovae are extremely luminous and cause a burst of radiation that often briefly outshines an entire galaxy, before fading from view over several weeks or months.

Yes, it could well be a UFO that appeared 2000 years ago over Bethlehem. What's very interesting is that the same thing is apparently happening now, but on a world-wide scale to herald the imminent public emergence of the Christ (A World Teacher named Maitreya).

This is according to a non-profit organisation called Share International.
It states in its magazine and website that hundreds of sightings of a brilliant star-like luminary have been reported from all around the world, and have been covered by TV news, newspapers, blogs and on YouTube.

On 12 December 2008 Share International distributed a news release announcing that in the very near future a large, bright star would appear in the sky visible throughout the world, night and day, heralding the imminent appearance of Maitreya in His first interview on a major US television programme. Since early January 2009 sightings of the star have been reported all over the world and hundreds of sightings have been sent to Share International.

...The ‘star’ is really one of four enormous spacecraft placed around the world.

If we are to believe that the 'holy bible' was a life manual that was written by ET for our own survival and developmentm then yes, the star of Bethlehem had to be a UFO i.e ET craft. However, there are so many contradictions and pieces of writing in the bible that just don't make any sense at all, which suggests that maybe the original writing of the 'holy bible' was tampered with edited and released purely on the basis to control a large population of this planet.

I expect the first holy bible, like the sumerian stones if read today, would tell us a few home truths that would be hard to swallow.

The wise men were from the East where Astronomy was well advanced. The Chinese even had records of sunspot activity.

Detailed and highly scientific records by the Chinese at the time indicate a truly massive Supernovae. This Star of Bethlehem was able to cast a shadow at noon that rivaled that of the Sun and lit up the pitch black of the night as if it were twilight. Furthermore, after a supernovae takes place, its vast, debris filled gas cloud will continue to expand for many years. A supernova remnant gas could is still expanding which, when rate of expansion, measurable by Doppler SHift, gives a detonation in the region of 3 BC. *Unfortunately, I can't remember where it is but this can be looked up).

There is, however, the interesting thought of how the total destruction of this nearby star system, so violently that it would have, almost instantly vapourised all planets and life on them could be related to the birth.

I am a little disappointed this was moved here. I first posted this in the ufo section to get some good feedback on what people thought, Admin? Thankyou for the links though, I am going to have a good read about this.

Would like to see the text from the NT regarding this. What all did it say? Did it just appear for a short while or??

All i can think of the northern star also the stars that resemble a cross.
