Louisiana Cops Planning for END of WOrld Scenario!!

www.redicecreations.com

Instead of normal riot equipment such as shields and batons, the volunteers will be armed with shotguns and have access to a .50-caliber machine gun mounted on a vehicle dubbed “the war wagon.” On February 20, the volunteers were trained in hand-to-hand combat techniques.

Under Deen’s plan, the police will use volunteers, supplemented with active public safety personnel, that will be dispatched to vital areas in Bossier to protect them from looters and rioters. Deen listed as examples grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals and other public meeting places.

First of ALL, Who are the volunteers ? Locals i hope.
50-caliber machine guns ? This could be good, but there may be a Dark Twist to this as well , Worth reading and posting as anything could happen from this , Is this the future for all ?? Any insight about this would be worthful, I think its never been done before in the U.s , let me know if it has , cause they 're preparing for the end, should we also ? So many roads and twists it makes my head turn !
I have the local newspaper link above ,as well as Internet news links .

That sounds about right.. I wouldn't be suprised if all the police forces around the world don't have similar exercises..

How can they not prepare for what may be, with a jobless recovery that can only be followed by governments dipping into peoples back pockets to repay the bailout of their banker friends, which all in all is not going to go down very well with the public.

Something tells me, that its looking extremely likely that within a very short space of time we may be about to meet our galactic neighbours.

Keep a close eye over the next few months on the governments stance on UFO's and the possibilities of contact with such.

So if they're all out guarding those places. Who will be looking after the police station? Mwuhahahaha

Why would they be preparing to protect vital strategic points, if the end of the world is near? Doesn't make sense.

I personally believe that this is a preparation for a post-crisis scenario. I am convinced that our financial system is going to collapse and even though it surprised me that this financial crisis hit us so early, it is not over as they are pretending it to be: we have only witnessed the prelude and we now experience the silence before the storm.

After the storm has raged, our countries are going to be very chaotic, making it plausible for the military and police to prepare for this.

New Orleans has had a "war wagon" for decades. As far as .50 BMGs go, this seems to be a radical departure from traditional crowd control procedures.

Very many police forces have volunteer police officers who patrol with regular police during special events and emergency situations. These programs have existed for decades, also.

There really isn't much here, except for the BMG. That worries me some. I happen to be from Shreveport originally, which is across the river from Bossier City.

I live about 2 hours from Bossier.. and I don't think it's that they're preparing for end of the world scenarios. More than likely, they just don't have anything better to do.

I wonder how long these volunteers will last when they meet some veteran turned hood.

Or will the volunteers turn on the cops if things get really bad.

Wouldn't surprise me. That place is the drainage ditch of the continent.

I agree, it is for post crisis. It is widely known that we are this () close to disaster financially, the whole world in fact, is. With recent proclaimation that unemployment benefits could be stopped, imagine the domino effect of crime that could and will take place, people just trying to feed themselves! These are not good times we are living in, I feel enlightened but I can't stand seeing, in my day to day life, people living so blind to what is going on! I am begining to think that ATSers and other sites like this one are the only people willing to accept the facts and be in the know, not to ignore but to try to prepare!

Exactly, I'm pretty sure they're preparing for the next Katrina...not the end of the world

Heh, not very surprising really. The doom and gloom nature of life has the people paying attention very nervous. As for all the oblivious folks well when the shtf they will be up a certain creek without a canoe
Since Katrina some people learned what happens when the veneer of society is pulled away!

When the world ends, war wagons will be nothing more than chunks of metal wreckage floating in space along with the rest of what used to be a planet.

However, I think you mean 'the world as we know it' ending. In a scenario where civilzation breaks down, one of the first signs will be the ineffectiveness of government to handle looting, murder and general mayhem.

[imo]
The use of these 'war wagons' are an intermediate stage before government breaks down.

Thank you for saying something that I think most people misconstrue. The end of civilization not the end of the world! Although I think it is a moot point when and if it occurs, since it might as well be the end of the world.

Alot of these volunteers are veterans.

I might see if I can sign up for this. Sounds like a great idea.

This has nothing to do with the end of the world though.
Its an emergency response to a catastrophic event, like Barksdale AFB being nuked or the collapse of the US economy.

I can't make up a thread yet as only just joined. Maybe a catastrophe wouldn't be too bad, well apart from billions of lifes been lost but this planet is a mess right now and we could do with a rewind to stoneage times when there wasnt a such thing as money and everyone was happy. Money is the root of all evil as we keep hearing. We all managed 1000's years ago with no money so now why do people think its so hard living with the global credit crunch? its not such a bad thing as there are so many lazy people in england faking illnessess to qualify for sick money. Why can't we all go back to days where there was no money, i would really like that and i know quite a few of my friends and family agree too. Give me a tent and a sleeping bag and i will happily go leave my house and live in a forest tomorrow!!!

I live in Southeastern Louisiana and I can tell you that the poster a few spots up from me is correct........there is nothing in Northern LA. They are bored and looking for something to do. I wouldn't worry about it. That's just my 2 cents tho.

We have plenty to do. We go to Texas! Wait a minute.

Honestly I'm not sure what we do here. We have malls, casinos, an air force base, and some other odds and ends here and there. There are two medium sized coliseums, drag racing strip, horse races, an imax, 5 or 6 lakes, and tons of crime. Lots of people travel to Dallas or the Ozarks.

I can't imagine Covington being much better though. At least when the Hurricanes hit, they are tropical storms when they reach us.
