Understatement? Israel has banned Israeli Arabs parties from running in elections and an Israeli Arab will never hold any senior political position because it's illegal for them to do so. Israel wouldn't know democracy if it punched it in the face.
Facts are facts regardless who presents them to you!

You lie. Plain and simple. There are Israeli Arab Knseset members, there are "Arab" parties, there were Arab ministers and there will be Arab ministers. Maybe even Head of government. But it does not change the fact that you lie.
I may be incorrect about it being illegal for an Arab to be the head honcho of Israel but I think anyone with more than one bean rattling around in their skull knows that will never happen. It wont happen because the powers that be in Israel will never allow it to happen
The bill, sponsored by Israel Beiteinu MK Alex Miller, prohibits holding events or activities that aim to mark the day of Israel's independence as a time of mourning or sorrow.
Those who violate the law could get up to three years in prison. The proposed legislation must pass three Knesset readings before it would become law, and it is likely to face heavy opposition, including from some coalition members.

It would yes, but when a country, any country, shouts from the rooftops about how it is a bastion of democracy and then introduce laws to prevent people (the opposition) from taking part in the democratic process, they are not a democracy at all. Scum maybe, but not a democracy.

e Israeli cabinet on Sunday softened a much-criticized bill on the Nakba, what many Palestinians lament as the "catastrophe" of the 1948 creation of Israel. The revised draft law now prohibits any government funds from being used for events marking the Nakba, instead of banning commemorations altogether, a government official said.

For some reason, Israel enjoys this only one in a planet status of not only being a state, but also being a state that is intrinsically connected, in both law and representation in government, with one particular ethnicity/religion.

The great lovers of Freedom and Human Rights around here are never troubled and creating new threads daily on things like Saudi Arabia and places like the Emirates not even allowing Jews in the country, a Muslim government in Sudan slaughtering hundreds of thousands of people, the 16 Million Kurds being deprived of a rightful homeland, and on and on and on.
All this outrage and indignation is solely reserved for Israel alone, a country that extend full rights to it's 1.5 Muslim citizens.
No one intelligent is really fooled about the incessant Jew hatred that pollutes these boards.
