I wanted to share an experience i had yesterday and to get any insight on what it could be.

I was washing my hands in the restroom and noticed all these little balls of yellow light flying around similar to what embers from a fire do. They just moved around sporatically as if being blown around by wind. Reminded me of fireflies from the color and size, but they didnt blink, it was a constant light.

It happened for about 5 seconds then looked as if they fizzled out.

I immediately thought eye floaters, but i couldnt find anything about them actually being luminated like that. From my understanding floaters come from retinal tearing due to aging. I am fairly young so i doubt it would be that, but am not dismissing the idea.

Nothing like this has ever happend to me before so i am wondering if this is just something natural.

any thoughts on what it could be are appreciated.

bah i am perplexed.

G'day Brydaws

I have a very low resting heart rate from all my training, as does my daughter from her training.

We both sometimes see "silver & gold sparks & spots" when we experience orthostatic hypotension (sometimes called postural hypotension).

That is to say, your blood pressure drops when you bend over & straighten up again, or jump out of bed quickly, stand up quickly, etc...

Unless you have some underlying medical problem, in young people this is benign.

That is my best guess regarding that which you experienced.

Kind regards

I've had that many times, the post above is one reason for this happaning.

Another could be a short starvation of oxygen to the brain maybe?? I noticed that this happens to me whenever i sprint for a long period of time and then have a coughing fit, or if i just have a very bad coughing fit.
(I am a heavy smoker,lol)

Thank you for that. I will definitely bring this up during my next doctor's visit just to be safe. I do not currently have any known medical conditions, but better safe than sorry.

I just hope that it is not the case for me!

G'day again Brydraws

If you are young & fit with low blood pressure & a low resting pulse rate, then it's not all that unusual.

However I am certainly not here to give medical advice, so you should always ask your Dr if anything concerns you at all, no matter how minor

Kind regards
