Secret plot to prevent popular vote on Icesave

A secret document from U.s embassy revealed

The Icelandic government sought help from the U.s
to prevent popular vote as it would most likely
not help the British enforce their best interests
on to Icelanders.

Icesave debts will be paid in full ,its already decided.

But the British insist on better deals for themselves.

Popular vote is likely to put a stop to that ,
so there have been secret negotiations between
the U.s and Icelandic governments to prevent
public addressing on the issue.

However ,the Icelandic government didn't get
the support it needed as the U.s attempted to remain
neutral in its position.
