What is the point of life???

The point of life is Evolution, growth in consciousness untill enlightenment! Evolution is everiwhere in the Cosmos from stone to God in all stages. And when you rich the top level than you forget the game and start again a new game !

After years of contemplating this question, and also being as depressed at some point in my youth like Saabacura appears to be, I've come to conclude that for most living things that life is about Family.

There are biological exceptions to this.

Where biologically speaking our purpose is to ensure the successive reproduction of our genes, or someone with whom we share those genes. In Nature, for some species, not every individual needs to breed, only the dominant pair needs to actually have offspring, and the other Family members help with the raising of the young. So, that in a nut shell if you cannot bear your own offspring, and ensure their success, then Nature allows you an alternative option and that is to help with the success of one of your other relatives offspring. With a 3rd option, unique to humans, of ensuring the success of your species by being an active member of society and helping enrich it.

Humanity's uniqueness, for the most part, is this new biological imperative of gathering and using knowledge to ensure breeding success, with a side benefit of the betterment of the species through something new called Culture.

So, get an education to be more successful and you will have a greater selection of mates to choose from. Then select a mate to love and cherish, and with that you should be able to raise your children to be successful parents themselves.

The point of life of coming into the world is not to know or remember the point of life but to discover it.

Everyone's on their own journey experiencing life and in so doing they are discovering more about themselves and the world around them. In my guesstimation 99.9999% are still trying to find out what the point of life is although many will claim "TO KNOW."



Everyone’s point of life discovery may be different one from another as the stars differ in size and brightness so does the understanding of each person differ, from opinion, belief, knowledge, experience, understanding awareness/consciousness and so on.

The answer to the riddle of what the point of life is can be found deep within yourself and only yourself. You’re the only one who can find that answer and discover your own point of life for yourself.

My suggestion to you is, get together with some friends and throw a little party, let the good times roll or take a nice relaxing, fun-filled or even adventurous vacation somewhere and have a blast. Enjoy life everyday and take nothing for granted. A person that takes life for granted can expect life to take them for granted. There are always things to be grateful for even in one's darkest hours.

If your afraid of heights, go do a bungee jump.

The point of life is to remember who you truly are and why you chose to be here now.

I myself have often debated the pointlessness of life.Sometimes i feel that life is a wonderful gift to be lived to the fullest, and at other times, I feel as if it's all some joke and were the punchline.There's a few quotes that always come to mind when thinking of the point of life.

I feel that the purpose of life is your own choice, there will be no judgment or repercussions or expectations only reccomendations and guidence. Free will is one of the universal laws, so it is completly up to you what you choose to do with the gift that is life. I suggest you find out more about the reality and creation that surrounds you as well as yourself through meditation or contemplation. The point im trying to make is that you dont have to do anything if you dont want to so there isnt really a purpose that must be fullfilled to please some seperate deity but simply the purpose you choose.

Read Ecclesiastes.... It's at the end, but, a good read all the way through.

The purpose of your life is whatever you are doing now. When you are done doing that and you find yourself doing something else, that is your purpose.

Think, Forest Gump.

I promise, if you do this, you will be happy and fulfilled.

The point of your physical life is to be yourself and live up and act on your highest excitements. Nothing you do really matters. Life is just one infinite being experiencing itself, and this physical life wont be your only life. But you can only be this you one time, so live your current life to the fullest.

Hey, I am 23 years old as well, when I was 20 years old, I was questioning the same question as you do. What's the purpose of life??

Mating, find a gf, marry, get a job, get a baby, help your kids grow , and then what die?

Seems like a useless to me way living right??

at the age of 22 , I moved to China! my parents are in alaska by the way,
I didn't speak language at all, nor do I speak right now, just little. I met a girl online, and moved there just to be with her, crazy ah?

When I moved to China, it is like something has clicked inside of me and my thoughts, i started thinking differently, I started learning stocks, futures, anything related to stock market, jeez, I am hooked on it, and 90% of the time I can predict when to buy low and sell high.

I got lots of ideas of what I want to do in my life, build a first underwater house! bogus, ah?

I want to construct my own gadget like flying robot, w/e.

You have to find your own passion in the life, if you are not happy, you will suffer for the rest of your life, go to tibet, find monks, learn from them,start a militia, and fight the corruption lol whatever makes you happy and brings the point of life, I sure do know that when we die, we go on another level , spiritual level of being awakened.

The point of life is to let go and let faith take you where it wants you to go.

Let me elaborate, if you take two magnets and leave them there freely next to each other they will come together. At the same time you have the choice to separate them and keep them separate.

This is important because you have to go and find what you are looking for. You will know what that thing, person, entity what ever is when you are close to it.

You will be pulled towards it, but once against you will have the choice to separate yourself from that thing/things you are suppose to be with.

Without it, life would be meaningless and that is what causes so much suicide.

So what you need to do is to let go.

Says it all in my opinion.

Of course the point of life is just to post on ATS and gain more posts!

To go through it with the rest and to do your best to advance your soul in the positive direction it is temporary for a reason LIFE THAT IS, and to say what I always say. IF HUMANITY LISTENED TO GOD FROM THE START AND DIDNT EAT FROM THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE no one would even know of what life and death are. Without the knowledge of life and death one can exist within this phase of existance free of the fear of death old age disease ect. So since we were alerted to life and death we now possess ways to fear and try to understand it, very sad. As far as you OP STRENGHTHEN YOURSELF INTERNALLY AND MENTALLY with the rest good luck.
