BTS - We need some kind of recognition - we want Moons

lets try and get the mods to allow us to add moons as recognition like in ATS with stars, We want Moons, does anyone agree with me, ask all you friends to reply to this thread, lets see how many replies we can get and then take it to the mods, it cant be that hard to add....

I don't really think BTS contributes that much to the goals and concepts behind ATS.

I mean, it's great, it's fun, but it's not... it doesn't take a whole bunch of effort. And many parts of ATS do require a lot of effort and thought, and stars and flags are a way to reward that effort and critical thinking.

Recognition in BTS would be like "Here's a good recipe for soup!" (have some stars), "How about that game last night?" (have some stars, I like that team).

Not the same in my eyes as the purpose of recognition on ATS.

Fantastic idea ... moon for you!

There is already a discussion about the return of stars to BTS.
The problem is..even though I love BTS..it does come across as a popularity contest, and the star system is easily abused.
Not to say that doesn't happen on ATS as well..but I say leave it as is.
You want stars and flags? Post some good quality on ATS.

Exactly, BTS is more fun than serious, so why can't we moon someone if we want...., its all about the fun behind it....

I find stars to be stupid frankly...the stars, though conceptually nice, are little more than a popularity mark of ideals verses solid contributions.

Goto any we hate Obama thread...say he is a socialist and you will recieve 4000 stars by those like minded...goto the same thread, spend time laying out the differences between moderate liberalism and socialist democracy...have solid references, etc...and you may get 1 star by accident.

Stars in ATS in reality simply mean, "Hey, this guy thinks like me...let me star him".

I personally would like to see the end of stars and make people read through the thread verses find the most lit up as the only worthwhile posts to read.

just my thought...if you agree, give me a star (jk..no stars on business board...cause they got this one right)

Its not about the recognition, but mearly that you appretiate their opinion.

I have often starred posts I don't necessarily agree with, if I think it is a good post which brings something of value into a thread. So speak for yourself!

whether moons, stars,or sprinkle donuts..they all mean the same thing

thanks for that, must have missed it , but why isnt anyone doing something about being able to moon them if you want to.... if its all about the fun, O.K if not moons then mabye little U.F.O's or just a smiley faces or sad faces

I think there maybe [Hopefully] soon some changes regarding BTS. I think SkepticOverlord will be working some of his magic soon.

I agree.

There have been numerous times were I have starred posts that are in opposition of mine, simply because they were contributing in an intellectually stimulating manner...

In fact, I rarely star posts that are similar to my own, simply because it's nothing new to me..

BTS isn't only fun and games...for the most part yes, but BTS is more of a place for people to express themselves and their beliefs.

I don't see the difference in why BTS shouldn't have some sort of recognition system... It's all just a matter of opinion at the end of the day. (Even when it comes to ATS)

By the way...if BTS is all just for fun, games and relaxation...then why the FLAGS? Aren't flags for alerting other members to important threads and info?
