My ears are ringing loud!

I am curious if others who have tinnitus, if your ears are ringing louder right now? I have in the past associated natural disasters, usually large quakes with my tinnitus when it gets really loud.

I am sure it is just coincidence, but I have been tempted to post this many times when it happens, to see if others have the same going on.

Usually, when it gets louder, a large earthquake happens within 3-4 days, sometimes sooner. This time I decided to post simply because it happens to often, and who knows if something in the earth like atmospheric pressure or "something" could effect the "what ever" that causes tinnitus.

Will see I guess. If nothing happens, I will just go back to listening to the noise by myself LOL.

I can't confirm whether my Mom has tinnitus or not...but she too get's ringing in her ears. She too believes her ears ringing are a way of being able to predict earthquakes. Albeit she never knows the exact time or place. She thought she was the only one who could do this...I believe she's even searched for it from time to time. I may direct her to this thread. Personal Disclosure: I have partial deafness hearing problems with both ears, including the effects of tinnitus and so I know exactly how maddening it can be.

OP I have a question for you. Regarding the intensity of ringing episodes in the past, can you determine whether the intensity has been based on earthquake locale and/or magnitude strength? If I may, where are you located?

I suggest that you create a journal of these episodes, bookmark the USGS Monitoring site (this is the Central & Eastern U.S. region, but from here you can go to any of the monitored regions). In your journal you should record the exact time and date, and duration of the ringing episodes. Somehow create an intensity gauge, maybe a scale of 1 - 10 e.g. Then when you get these episodes, visit that site and determine if you can discover a pattern at all with these episodes and earthquakes that follow soon after.

Just a suggestion mind you, but if in fact you are able to discover a significant pattern, well I think that would be quite significant.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but aren't earthquakes pretty much happening all the time, all over the globe?

Does my frequent indigestion predict this or is it a separate issue?

I have it constantly, and I am used to it now,

One night a few months ago my husband jumped out of bed with very loud ringing in one ear, and went totally deaf by morning, it was accompanied by vertigo,

His hearing never returned, and they don't know why.

I always have a little ringing in my ears that I usually do not notice unless in a very quiet place. My experiences so far are usually when there is a larger quake somewhere 7.0 and up the ringing is much louder almost annoying a few days before a large quake. I live in Florida so we do not have any that anyone would notice.

I will try to keep a log on this computer on intensity and with dates etc... and will watch out for quakes.

All illnesses begin from inside, and if the issue is not resolved, it will manifest outwardly as dis- ease.

Well the extra loud ringing went away about 3 days ago so I guess it is not related to this 8.8.

I have it too, but I have learned to ignore it for the most part.


I've sometimes noticed that while reading posts made by certain members on this site, it sometimes gets louder. I think it may have to do with their avatars creating a frequency that I can pick up.


Has anyone else noticed that certain member's avatars seem to cause more ringing in your ears than normal?
