To say Iam surprised at how long Survivor has lasted as "Entertainment" is an understatement and I know I'm not alone.
You would have to offer up far more than just a million for me to endure the conditions which these individuals fight for the privilege to be a part of. (More so enticed by the idea of being on TV no doubt..and no thought whatsoever into the conditions which they are really subjecting themselves to.)
That being said..admittedly I have watched a few seasons..of course the first one, and I still follow the goings on of Richard Hatch and laugh..what a tool.
This new special..:
HEROES AND VILLAINS OF SURVIVOR has my interest peaked as it sees the return of two of my favorite stars.
entertainment.ca.msn.com...
RUPERT
entertainment.ca.msn.com...
And my all time fav..Smokin Hot BOSTON ROB
entertainment.ca.msn.com...
I see they have also brought back Cirie and Tom.
This season looks especially exciting, and though I rarely stray from *SPIKE TV, and CSI..I'll be watching survivor.
If for no other reason than to see Rob shirtless...

I am surprised it is still running. I used to be a religious fan, I dropped out about 5 years ago. I got tired of the cute bimbo girls pushing for a playboy spread.

I did apply, but I wanted the challenge, not just the money. Which means I wouldn't of been a good candidate.

What I don't get is that there are so many reality shows, that it is very hard to become a reality star these days. So if your doing it just for tv, then it is for a tiny spot of fame, because I can't even keep up with the number of shows much less the occupants.

Though I guess a few shows still do well.

I do admit to getting tied up in an episode of Jersey Shore.

I still love Survivor. Been watching it since day 1. Here's why. It's an excellent study in human nature. It takes people out of their comfort zones, and allows them (and the viewer) to experience their true natures.

Personally, if I were a little more physically fit, I'd be dying to try and get on this show, and not for tv, and not for the million (although that would be GREAT!!!). I'd do it just for the experience of it...and the life lessons it would teach.

I can't wait to see Russell, Rupert, and Hatch in action again....Russell was the man...
Survivor is the only reality show I watch (well, religiously...my wife always watches American Idol, so I do by osmosis), but can't wait for my fix....

Although, I guess technically, I am a resident "reality star", as my wedding was on TLC's "A Wedding Story", but that was a few years back, hehe....

I didn't see Hatch, but did see the others I mentioned... I missed the first hour darnit...thought the wife set it up to record, but oops...

I heard Johnny Fairplay quit (didn't see him in the last hour)...

Steph still looked fine...she was a fierce competitor in her season. Coach is as lame as ever, and Rob is playing him like a fiddle. Russell may be in the water with fellow sharks this time, instead of the idiots on his team last season...

SPOILER: Sugar was voted off, she practically begged for it, which sucks, as I liked her when she was on during her season...but still, I probably would have voted the same....

I like the producers' reliance upon bikinis...

Go Villains!!!

To my knowledge..Hatch was never supposed to be on..I just mentioned him in my op.
I watched it all, and you missed nothing really.
Sugar was SOOOO annoying, that is what got her voted off.
I can't miss next week..something happens to my Boston Rob!!!!

Richard Hatch was supposed to be on. But because of his legal problems (parole/probation) he was not allowed to leave the US. He asked a judge for permission stating that if he won the money he would be able to pay his back taxes and fines. The judge didn't go for it. Therefore, Hatch is out.

Fairplay was never considered for Heroes vs Villains as far as I know. He quit the season of All Stars that he was on.

Looks like Boston Rob passes out in the jungle next episode. Pretty good survival skills on him starting the fire by rubbing two sticks together.

I bet that man wishes he never did that show.

YOu would think with all the money Barnette has made, he would of bailed richard out just to be able to have him on the show.

Interesting point... I'd have loved to see Hatch and Russell go at it...

Hope your Rob is ok AD!!! For those who don't know, Rob married his season's winner, Amber, and they've got a daughter together now...kind of a Survivor love story... Amanda and Ethan are another Survivor couple, though they met after the experience...

Dude had a point though..she was the last of her tribe previously..gotta back stab the backstabber...

She was the last of her tribe mostly due to her performance in challenges. I'm not sure what bug James had up his butt about her, but man, did he campaign for it...

Oh well, at least Amanda and Parvarti are still there...

Watch your back Russell..what goes around comes around...

The only way it came around last time, was that people didn't want him to get the money...so they gave it to the lame-o who rode his coat tails....

You gotta hand it to Russell, the man plays an awesome game of Survivor... Rob was one of the craftiest to ever play the game, and Russell still took him out...

Brilliant strategy, and the rest of Rob's crew is pretty much right there to knock off now...(I would go with Coach next, if expecting a merge...if not merging, then get rid of the gal who fails every challenge)...

Personally, I would have axed her LONG ago....

OMG Russell is an egotistical windbag..and I would have voted him off first.
They voted off a strong competitor for the challenges...THAT will be that tribes downfall.
He'll get what's coming to him..
My gosh I hope coach finds immunity somewhere..and I hope Russell falls outta a tree or something..
DAYUM guys like that tick me off.

No question he's an ass...but he's good at it.

Russell will be toast in a merge though...

Note, if Coach DID find immunity, I'd wager Russell or Jerri would trick him into giving it to them... Coach is a nice guy...but he's also egotistical and not the sharpest crayon in the box (though he fancies himself a genius)... Both Russell and Jerri know how to play him like a violin....

He even thinks his vote was "brave", when it was really a chicken #$%& move...(he didn't want a tie, and to have a shot at going home, but he didn't have the balls to choose a side either)...

Another bonehead move by the villains....getting rid of another strong contender, only with eyes to the merge, and not on the present.

What difference will the merge make, if they are low in numbers? (and keep losing challenges).

That skinny blonde stick survives another day. Did you see her in the bikini? Looked like footage of the Nazi death camps!

I'm almost wanting to see her win, just to spite them....

How did Parvarti not vote with Russell...what's up with that? Something weird going on, that the producers aren't revealing with the clip choices....

SPOILER>>>>>>>

Jeez, AGAIN!!! Russell loses out because the Jury votes not FOR the winner, but AGAINST Russell....

Personally though, I think Parvarti played the best strategic and social game.... I really hate seeing Sandra win again...she didn't deserve it the first time, or this time... Probably the weakest Survivor in the show's history...but that's why she won....

Nobody saw her as a threat, and so they'd take her to the final, not contemplating that the jury's hatred for them would cause such a vote....

At least Russell got the vote of the public...
Love him or hate him, he made the last two seasons fun to watch....

And while J.T.'s move was pretty bonehead...Eric's giving the idol to Nathalie was still dumber....
