Is it Possible that Iran Will Fake an Attack Against Itself?

Found this, thought it was very interesting:

All right, bear with me on this one. Iran has declared that tomorrow it will deliver a 'devastating blow' to the West. Speculation has spread across the internet. Most assume some sort of major move or unveiling, such as the revealing of a nuclear weapon or a massive strike on protectors that are swarming the streets since their election.

But what if Iran were to fake an attack on itself?

It is quite possible that any major belligerent move would cause a backlash against Iran. The unveiling of a nuclear weapon could cause sanctions, the same goes for squashing protests. However, it could be plausible that, should fear be great enough, that a so-called "western" power could preemptively strike Iran.

But more, what if Iran were to fake a preemptive strike against themselves? It would cause a perfect storm. They could easily claim that Israel attacked them in fear of the "blow" that they were going to unleash. What if Iran were to kill some of its own citizens, I mean kill more of its citizens, by blowing up a bomb and saying it was an Israeli terrorist? In the eyes of the world, if Israel were to deny it, it would be a he-said she-said scenario in which it may be hard to concretely disprove Iran.

The potential backlash against our ally in the Middle East could be devastating. Unable to disprove the accusations, Israel could be admonished world-wide. Iran would look the victim, Israel the aggressor; Iran would have its "devastating blow" without any major side-effects. Think about it.

What do you guys think?

I think it's much more likely the U.S. or Israel will lead a false flag operation (terrorist attack, for example) on its own soil, blame Iran, and then go on the offensive in order to finally take out Iran.

I don't think Iran will do anything ridiculously drastic, it is probably an unveiling of some new nuclear technology they have developed, but the U.S. or Israel (they might as well be the same thing) will use it as an opportunity to go on the war path.

I keep thinking that Iran will detonate a nuke in a test.

This is the typical "American" response that the world sees, and hence why people are not fans of this nation.

I can usually fake an attack against myself..............

guys, people make jokes about nuking em, their not serious, its just fun to watch ppl go ape online.

But in response to op, they could do it, might work out well for them. Iran is not a shining jewel of a country, they could do something like this just as much as anyone else.

I think that most likely, the President of Iran will give a speech.

He may bore some people to death but that's about it.

No false flag, no nukes, just a big yawner of a speech.

Well, you can't always leave out the possibilities, however, I just don't see this happening. Israel is going to make the move without thinking about the possibility of retaliation. WWIII.

More oil and money for us all? Nuke em and have a picnic? What makes you so sure that we, or the rest of the world, will still be living on green grass? This isn't WWII, where only the US has the atom bomb, this is WWIII. In WWIII, everybody has their finger on the red button, everybody posesses a nuclear weapon, whether it being built in ones homeland or bought on the black market.

One may have missile defense systems, but it surely wont bring all nuclear projectiles out of the sky.

I swear, its one whom thinks primitive tactics bring peace. Dropping a nuke wont solve anything, especially in the longterm effects. Ones confidence on this will be their downfall.

Quite, upsetting seeing such outrageous claims on this website. It really isnt what it was when I started, and im still a relativley child here.

1. Iran will NOT attack Israel, now or never. They sure as sugar wont attack them today. If your going to hit a nation, you dont declare '' im going to do something spectacular on this day ''. Its like tipping off the cops that your going to murder someone on the 12th, then the cops finding your neighbours dead on the 12th.

2. Iran will not ATTACK themselves. Imagine if bush came out in august 2001 and said '' on 9/11/01 something big will occur.. then they turn around and say '' hey, those terrorists attacked us, we now have the right to attack them ''. PEople would be furious that they KNEW, but didnt stop it. likewise a self inflicted attack wouldnt work.

Its either

1. China and Russia signing a defence pact
2. Nuclear test
3. Proof 911 was a fraud
4. Uncovering some major CIA / ISRAELI plot

Only America does things like that, so they can have the excuse to move into another country and take over the oil reserves. 9 11, and now Haiti, and the Gulf war, still waiting to hear when these weapons of mass destruction were found.
