I think whatever it is that is held up their sleeve will be a game changer rather than threatening/agression, but it needs to be a game changer.

Lets not forget one simple fact, the Elite of BOTH sides have peeved populations, ready to engage in civil unrest.. But Iran has the most pressing issues in this regard.. they need something to unify the nation, patriotism works quite well for that one..

so IF a war breaks out it'll benifit both sides..

Strange that today I see on the news (here in the UK) that a whole set of "new" photos have been released of 911.. hmmmm methinks some in power on this side of the fence are indeed worried..

That would really suck. What would North America do without the internet?

It's a shocking possibility though. A nuke detonated at a high altitude has the same effect as an EMP weapon. The devastation would be unprecedented. Let's hope this isn't the case.

The global powers are supposed to be "stunned". Would you really be stunned if they announced they're going to enrich to 20%?

Put it this way if it was supposed to be some sort of attack, they blew it the moment they made it common knowledge. Another false flag i would say. On the other hand they are capable of anything. I suppose we will all see how good security really is.

I still wish they announce the completition of an armada of ICBM missiles armed with nuclear warheads ready for action along with the world's first next-gen missile defense system capable of neutralizing even the most sophisticated missiles developed today.

This atleast would maybe hold on status quo - as everyone knew they would be obliterated if they would mess with iran. Iran would not start a war, i just hope they could bring any REAL terrorist state to their knees if they would start to interfere with irans own business.

I'm very interested to see if anything will happen at all, I think everyone feels that things have just been building and building over the last couple of years, there's got to be a give somewhere at sometime right?

I really don't think anything is going to happen. As I remember, didn't Iran a little while back make a similar announcement and then nothing came from it?

Let me rephrase what I said. I don't think anything is going to happen from Iran's end. I could totally see Israel or the US being trigger happy and when the Iranian leadership step up to make their announcement (which would probably be about Islam's superiority over the west) something happens.

Honestly though, I've kinda been hoping that Ahmadinejad will announce that he went down into the well that the Mahdi/12th Imam is in, got him out, and after they go out for pizza for lunch, he'll proceed to do what it is that that guy's supposed to do.

Don't you not feel the rhetoric from Iran has to have substance, not for the West but for the internal audience??

Since an empty threat and bluster will be seen by the opposition as weakness to be exploited??

There have been numerous threads on ATS, all about the same thing being said at different events in Iran.. Lets not forget the Iranian people are being sold this idea aswell..

Patriotism is a strong force in uniting a divided people.. and like those in the West, Iranians are a divided people.

My hope is that it is all bluster, that the Iranian opposition will leverage that to gain more support and move closer to putting in place a system the Iranian people want..

My fears are is that the Iranian gov has something up their sleeve.. and it is not all bluster.

Considering they put a turttle and other animals up in to space they might be going for a man !

or they might just unveil their new drone.

Is there a prize for the one who gets it right ?

Nothing going to happen, at best they would press the opposition leaders to confess their acts of treason toward the Islamic republic.

Seeing as how our President has yet to enforce any of the sanctions that he has threatened on Iran for the past 7 months. I suspect the big unveiling in Iran will big a giant You've been PUNK'D sign for Obama.

The Iranian Regime has made a mockery out of Obama and his threats since day one. If they do anything, I suspect that they will try to something that will have some indirect economic impact on the West. I paint that statement with a very BROAD brush. Any direct offensive action by Iran will be extremely detrimental for them.

Why the advance notice of a some mysterious action on the West? Not a good strategic move from a military offensive standpoint. I smell Hype.

I wouldn't be suprised if it is a nuke weapons test. And if that is the case and it is successful test, TPTB need to rethink how they are dealing with Iran because evrything that they have done up to this point has been meaningless to them.

So what's our next step? Lock and load?
