This article I totally missed out in the past days as MSM is not my first news source, if it was not that during some reading this article popped out as a source, I doubt I would have seen it. Ironically, after checking a bit in ATS, you notice like tons of threads being creating to bash on China this and that, while all these people "interested" in the topic "China" totally miss out this article as well. An article written in the backyard of the elites, an article in the Wall Street Journal.

Why Antagonize China? The revitalization of Asian capitalism is the most important positive event in the world in the last 30 years. By GEORGE GILDER (Wall Street Journal Feb 4, 2010)

A foreign policy of serious people at a time of crisis will recognize that the current Chinese regime is the best we can expect from that country. The Chinese revitalization of Asian capitalism remains the most important positive event in the world in the last 30 years. Not only did it release a billion people from penury and oppression but it transformed China from a communist enemy of the U.S. into a now indispensable capitalist partner. It is ironic that liberals who once welcomed appeasement of the monstrous regime of Mao Zedong now become openly bellicose at various murky incidents of Internet hacking.

As I discussed with a friend, this is pretty some refreshing sounds from a traditional Western MSM source. And it surprises me that it was ever published (not that surprised though nobody in ATS brought this article up).

The U.S. is as dependent on China for its economic and military health and economic growth as China is dependent on the U.S. for its key markets, reserve finance, and global capitalist trading regime.

It is self-destructive folly to sacrifice this core synergy at the heart of global capitalism in order to gain concessions on global warming, dollar weakening, or Internet politics.

How many enemies do we need?

Well this summarize so much, it is just too pity it is so tempting for a failing president and other failing policy makers to point out China as the scapegoat for all your current miseries and issues.

I agree. China is pretty harmless in terms of her nuclear capability, and her GDP per capita is very low, so all this China is growing very powerful or is owning us is just propaganda.

Instead of antagonizing her, we should be cooperating. Chinese girls can be very cute if they grow up under the proper economic conditions.

I believe that it's possible to create a world where there are "noticeably more" beautiful women. But in order to do that, we have to reduce poverty and overpopulation(through natural means), and improve everyone's economic situations first.

Um.
1) China wants to dismantle the US and will do so if allowed to. Otherwords when they get the power to do so.
2) China's mad about us helping a ally of our that they think is theirs yet who's population doesn't want to be their's. If help helping your friends antagonizes you enemies so what?
4) Read Sun Tzu.

I embrace the DC mafia generating animosity, enough enemies gang up on them and they'll be contained.

1) Show the sources and proof. Ever since Deng opened up China in 79, the motto and publcily announcing was and has always been a peaceful rise to join the club of first-world nations. China is not seeking for hegemony, it is seeking for properity.

2) Did you read the article?

4) Did it ages ago, did you? So a classic guy from more than 2000 years ago wrote a strategy book and you pretend it is the one holy bible for every Chinese policy maker? so did you read Confucius? Read Lao Zi? Dao Zi???? Or read any of the 5000 year old Chinese history and Culture? For starters, you might want to try the Modern history of the past 300 years in China, it might open your eyes and give you a bit more insights why China will not be the agressor in the coming 100 years or more.
