Body scanner images of Indian film star Shahrukh Khan have been printed and circulated by staff. Eh? I thought Lord Adonis told us that the images would be immediately deleted. What's stopping them from doing this to you or any of your loved ones?

However, the Transport Secretary’s assurances were demolished after it was revealed on the BBC’s Jonathan Ross show Friday that Indian actor Shahrukh Khan had passed through a body scan and later had the image of his naked body printed out and circulated by Heathrow security staff. “I was in London recently going through the airport and these new machines have come up, the body scans. You’ve got to see them. It makes you embarrassed – if you’re not well endowed,” said Khan, referring to how the scans produce clear images of a person’s genitals. “You walk into the machine and everything – the whole outline of your body – comes out,” he said. “I was a little scared. Something happens [inside the scans], and I came out. Then I saw these girls – they had these printouts. I looked at them. I thought they were some forms you had to fill. I said ‘give them to me’ – and you could see everything inside. So I autographed them for them,” stated Khan.

Notice how the star comments on the clear detail of the images. What on earth were the Heathrow staff thinking of?!? There is no respect for public opinion or outrage anymore.

Note: Apologies if this has been already posted. No search results were returned for Shahrukh Khan.

Here's the video:

What do you all think? Is this a legitimate claim or just a fabricated anecdote?

Here's a few more sources:

It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Regardless of all the assurances from the various security agencies, it was always possible - nay, inevitable.

The sources are crap, but frankly I don't doubt this has happened. It is/was just a matter of time before it did.

Not in the least bit shocked to be honest. I don't know what I will do if I am presented with the scanner. Going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks so I guess I'll find out soon. It feels wrong on many levels, but damnit I don't want to give my weekend get away!

Looks like crap to me, googled it and NOTHING comes up. This would be massive news if it actually happened

Did you contact the airports you're flying with to check and see if the scanners will be implemented by the time you fly?

It's far more likely, as rexusdiablos pointed out, that this is an anecdote, rather than the Heathrow security folks printing out images and risking losing their jobs. Why on Earth would they show any members of the public the photos? It doesn't make any sense.

I've recently entered a passive mode on this board, but this kind of comment just irritates me to no end.

What kind of rationalization is this? What is your point?

Also, this article is EXACTLY what we were talking about just after Christmas. We were opposing this when they first mentioned the naked body scanners. We all said that it was going to happen.

This article is just proof that our claims and cries SHOULD be heard, as they are becoming more consistently accurate.

But did you actually Google the keywords 'Shahrukh Khan body scanner'?

What about the youtube clip where Shahrukh Khan makes his claim? Do you reckon he's waffling?

EDIT: Fixed video link. See second post...^^^

The photos have been proven to be fake. As far as the story goes. Not sure I believe it based on the source and the added fake pictures.

I wonder what they'd do if someone walked into the airport covered head-toe in Aluminium Foil. (though I guess the scanner would see through it anyway, its the principle that remains.) I don't think there's a law against walking around wearing Aluminium Foil, and its hardly "evading security" as one could argue that a "Terrorist" wouldn't make his/her actions so obviously known.

I agree. Badgered1 post comes off as apathetically submissive. I'm not ready to roll over and die just yet.

As patmac has said, we initially had grievances over the privacy of the imagery. If the Indian actor's claims are true then many of our fears have been realized. Lord Adonis has not made the provisions he promised.

I refuse to accept this "Oh, it's the way of the world, it's inevitable!" attitude. We are the people and we have influence. Most of us just aren't educated enough to know how to use it, yet.

Which photos? From what I've read, the photos of Shahrukh Khan did not make it past Heathrow's staff. How can they be debunked if they're not accessible?

Which source? Prisonplanet? Johnathon Ross? Shahrukh Khan himself? Real Bollywood? Bollywood Press? All of the above?

The staff responsible for printing and circulating those images should immediately be fired.

They should also be charged with a number of crimes like invasion of privacy and distribution of porn.

You need to set an example of the people responsible and perhaps their bosses.

I agree but all the reprimanding in the world won't change the fact that, assuming Khan is correct, the means necessary for extracting and circulating the images exists. What does that mean for you and I or our children?
