Hi one of the first images released by Mars Express in 2004 is an image called coloredmap.jpg. (found here www.esa.int... ... &start=534) Its always been my favorite and the name of it strikes me as kind of interesting, why call one of your images coloredmap. Is this a clue that it is falsely colored? My idea was to try to remove a false color cast using a white balance filter and these are the anomalies I have found, giant, huge face anomalies. Let me know what you think, I guess you guys have seen it all before, but i thought I'd share anyhow, as the images have a lion/2 face split face theme. The first to me its a Elfin/Reptilian face in a large plumed helmet. The side of the helmet which is visible has a lions face built into the helmet protecting the area of the figures left ear.

original cut

Here's a mountain sized ghoulish half face rising out of the martian floor, is it deliberately half-faced? the other half is a city or structure perhaps?

More to come!

Can anyone say 'Paredolia'?

While I must commend you for at least trying to think outside the box, they look just like natural geological formations to me even though I can sort of see what you are getting at.

Isn't nature wonderful, and aren't we gullible

A big ask, however you keep showing your finds, and don't be intimidated by the same local trolls. You can show whatever you like.

I wasn't trolling. I genuinely believe that they are just natural formations.

I would dearly love to be wrong on this matter but I have an inkling I'm not.

....but sure, DO keep posting them, nobody is stopping you, just don't expect everyone to agree. i certainly don't expect people to agree with me and it is good to be able to throw ideas around.

Nothing but natural formations in these ones.

If ancient aliens were going to build structures I'm going to speculate they wouldn't make them look natural.

Better luck next time buddy

How would ancient ruins look 4.5 billion years old?

Certainly not easy to spot for the untrained eye

Well I still expect to see at least a tiny wincy pincy bit of geometric form even to the oldest of ancient anomalous structures, while still taking into account they could be very much degraded.

Otherwise we could take literally every single photo frame of the martian surface and simply assume there is an ancient non-natural formation somewhere in there..

In other words give me something a little more substantial.. lets get real here

Whilst, I am a huge supporter of the idea of past life on Mars, and that the objects at Cydonia are ruins, I cannot see anything in your images other than natural formations.

The big problem we have, is that (officially) no one has been to Mars, and there are no close up pictures available to actually work with. At least there are no close-up pictures that we are aware of.

I'm sorry to say it, but it seems like you've hit a blank with these. Great work though, and you get a star and flag from me for your hard work, and with luck you will find something truly fascinating, and unexplained in the future.

DN.

The photo was taken on 14 January 2004 from 275 kilometres above the surface by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) @ a resolution of 12 metres per pixel, and it shows a portion of Valles Marineris: for those interested in looking at the areas indicated in the OP in their own context (which would be the first thing to do in cases like this one, IMHO), here they are (see green rectangles).

Note: image # 1 has been rotated 180 degrees (I don't know the why).
A big version of the image (4096x4096) can be found here:

In my opinion there's nothing worthy to be called "anomalous", they are formations perfectly consistent with the geomorphology of the rest of whole area, and honestly, nothing suggests any artificial origin: if there's something obviously artificial there, then it has to have been buried very well.
Thanks for sharing

G'day alhambrial

Thank you for posting your images.

I cannot see anything there that looks artificial.

It all looks natural to me.

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not
