I have seen many of threads talking about the economy. I am tired of the economy sinking and looking like it wont go up. Now I am looking for ways to change it.

I challenge ATS to think of ways in which to prove the economy. It can range from creating jobs, stopping government spending, cutting living cost, ect. Anything that would help the economy.

Willing to listen to any idea as long as you can say how it will help.

Please no dissing of anyones ideas, instead try to improve ones that you like. If you think that one will have a negative affect, try to find out ways to turn it around instead of just making bad remarks about it.

PS. mods feel free to move had no idea where to put it.

I think that if you were to put in public transportation like buses or electric trains all around America it would create jobs. Not just in operators, but also construction. It would help families that can't afford cars, or anyone who is pinched for money.

While many towns and cities have something along the lines of public transportation, not all do.

Also keep business open later. Many stores close before you go to bed, what if they stayed open longer. Like a restaurant that was open as long as the bars. They would have to hire more people. plus you could keep public transportation open longer, it would help out a lot of drunk people if there was still constant public transportation.

Another idea is create things for teens. Teens are always willing to spend money if they can hang out somewhere that they can have fun. In the area I grew up in the only things for teens to do was movies, beach, or go get drunk somewhere. There was no nightlife for teens unless they created it themselves. It would create jobs and once again help out public transportation.

I also think that the corporate bailouts are a waste, they don't seem to be helping.

One way to improve our economy would be to enter a world war. A huge war on many fronts is the perfect storm in creating a strong economy.

With war, things need to be supplied. And with everything supplied for war is many millions of jobs.

A huge war would create jobs all around the spectrum. Steel workers, medical workers,, scientist grants, just for a drop in the bucket.

Just military MRE ready to eat meal packets would create several hundred thousand jobs. There has got to people to grow the food, harvest the food, refine oil to make the package of the food, have several plants to package the food, truck drivers to deliver the MRE's, Quality control clerks, people to make the vehicles to deliver the MRE packets. Even people to make more trash bags to dispose of the MREs .

So the MRE is just a small drop in the bucket that feeds the Military supply chain that creates millions of jobs.

One can actually pick one single item the military uses, and you can follow many many jobs that made that single item possible.

All of these jobs I'm sure would prop up the economy really fast.

I know what you are saying is true but I really hope it doesn't come to that, although with what is happening in the world it just might. Most of the world is suffering its gonna take alot of hard work or something huge to change that.

The very first step of improving economy begins with you and me.

1. Responsibility Mindset: Each must take responsibilities for their own actions. Nothing is free, no one owe us a living. You and I owe each other to contribute to our society and not depend on society to feed us when we have brains, arms and legs to earn an honest living, regardless if as a rubbish cleaning operator or as POTUS.

We need to get a job, with a part of it to take care of social spending - eduction, defense, healthcare, etc. We all will benefit from it as it had touched our lives from our forefathers' contributions, and the time is for us now to contribute back for the next generations to come.

2. Accept the low salaries temporarily: Times are bad, so in order to compete, salaries had been kept low, and at times even ridiculously low. However, our unions will be strengthened in time to come as we learn from this financial crisis created by corporate greed.

Action will come, so long as we feedback to our elected representatives to discuss ways to protect industries and jobs, and the necessary trade deals that will benefit the worker and not just the bosses alone.

In time, salaries will increase as the rich are made to redistribute their wealth more equitably, based on one's sweat and effort, not just because someone has deep drawers to play ponzi schemes.

3. Save and spend:- It's ok to spend, for only in circulating money can the economy grow by the lives touched by the funds. Only just spend on necessities, and have some savings to tide over bad times.

4. Watch out for opportunities:- No one needs to be a worker for life. No american is a serf today, and is free to become an entreprenuer at any time. However, to become one, it would need biz experience, not just school book theories. Best to work for a few years in a company and open one's eyes and ears to learn about the trade, then find out the shortcommings, and then come in to plug it. In it lays one's opportunity to rise, as well as create jobs for others.

5. Always check with one's elected representatives on his plan to improve the economy. Alone, our ideas may not be viable or good enough, but with more heads, a sound concept may be workable.

Keep an open mind always. It is the responsibility of the elected representative to come out with solutions, espacially the economy, for that's where food can be place on our tables. Without food first, it may be difficult to focus on other issues.

The keyword is mindset. As long as one keeps working, hard and smart (but not too smart alecky), this one drop in the ocean of economy will raise its level. And also to remember to take breaks, for human are not machines and must never allow ANY employer to bully the worker on this issue.

I appreciate you creating this topic because it is one worth discussing.

The entire reason that the economy seems out of control is because the public doesn't understand it at an elementary level. Even though we all participate in an economy there is very little education on the subject in any public school system on Earth. As someone with an M.A. Economics, I can honestly say that less than 1% of the population knows anything of value about the economy. The root of the problem is that three generations of Westerners have experienced relative economic prosperity and, thus, have concluded that it is not something with which the common man should concern himself. It was a workable conclusion in an era of relative stability, but that era is gone. Notice how the public has a renewed interest in the economy. I'm currently developing a basic economic theory that I will publish within the next 24 months for this exact reason. I will not go until the detail unless requested to do so.

The solution to improving the economy begins with an understanding of the economy, at least for those that make important policy decisions. Only then can one determine exactly what would the goal should be.

Skipping the explanation the best economy is this: a stable market in which individuals are free to rise and fall on their own abilities.

With that goal in sight it is easy to see how we get there from here.

1) Reduce the size of government by more intelligently (and thereby more effectively) addressing the purpose of its functions. That includes reducing expenditures on defense, crime, education, and healthcare. I can outline exactly how to do this upon request.

2) Eliminate the income tax. An income tax is a punishment for production and needs to be eliminated in any society that desires to be productive in the long-term. By following step 1 this is easily implementable. Recall that the United States government functioned for 130 years without an income tax.

3) Eliminate fiat currencies. It is the sole reason for the so-called "business cycle".

4) Eliminate interest rates.

Within that system the amount of money and, consequently, income, is fixed. The only way for one to increase their income is to increase their value to their consumer (be it an employer or customer). What a novel concept!

I glossed over many, many technical details so if you have any questions about my line of reasoning please don't hesitate to ask me to elaborate.

Truthfully,
Shane

Jimmy Carter was too good and honest to be an effective president BUT one thing he did do is offer a 5000$ or so prize for people who would come up with an effective gas saving device.

What we need to turn this country arouns are more garage inventors and shorter hours so they can invent.

Great innovations come from the garages of dreamers not out of labs owned by corporate schemers and new world order types.

1-ILLEGAL aliens out. (Come through the front door and be welcomed.)

2- Welfare recipients (not unemployed) will work for the city, state that they collect from, doing odd jobs. ie: picking up trash, cleaning up neighborhoods, weed wacking.....whatever would lesson the burden on taxes and the people.

3- Prisoners will pay for room & board or create something useful (license plates, city signs.....) to lesson the burden on taxes and the people.

4- All politicians will abide by any law they pass. (They are part of the people not above the people) ie: health care. and also term limits for all political offices.

5- End the Fed. give the power back to states, and the printing presses to the Treasury.

6- No tax payer bail-out for anyone for any reason.

I can go on but i'm gettin sick.

I think this could be a great thread if done properly as the OP said above.

Considering that TPTB and spooks are constantly on the site, maybe we can help them since they seem so incapable of figuring this sh!t out. --OR-- maybe everything is right on schedule for them.

If it has the word "public" in front of it, it won't do a a bit of good.

Privatize business, deregulate our economy. Support businesses.

Stop giving welfare people who are LAZY.

LOWER TAXES.

Let people make their own choices in life and stop having the government do it for us.

Simplest way to improve the economy would be a 10 KT airburst at about 5,000 ft. AGL over Washington DC on a Tuesday.

That what I was thinking. Lets help them out seeing how they don't know how to do it themselves.

I was talking about this when I was drinking with friends.

How about the government and corporations trying to build a city on the moon, but they hire outside work forces, and free transport for people that want to live there. It would create a ton of jobs, in the building and sustaining it. We could work on ways in which to grow food there some how. Who knows the amount of stuff we would learn, or minerals we could find, or technology we could uncover

It was our favorite idea of the night.
