It's just more of the Chinese Government's Bully-Boy tactics. They do it all the time.

They behave like any Control Freak.. "No you cannot do that or else." Pffft!!

Isn't it about time the entire world told them, "Shove it up your woolly behind and rotate." ? Seriously.

If we show fear and capitulate at any time they will gain power from such frailty. Hence why our governments need to speak very plainly and not show fear... and not make threats.

Act peaceably but do not cower or capitulate.

I was waiting to see how many people high on anti-American sentiment would twist this thread to blame the USA over a very pompous threat made against them by the Chinese government.

If people were able to put their hatred of the country aside - I know it is very hard, but try to try your best - you would see that China has no right to make such arrogant threats.

Wow! It appears the United States is dead-set on poking sticks until the coiled dragon lets out a roar loud enough to deafen the world. This is really shaping up to be the soap opera of the year, this Chinese and US change of heart. I wonder what is behind the latest string of provocative moves by the United States against China? Recently, the US sent military hardware to China's outlaw territory, Taiwan, and now they are practically building a fortress around Iran, China's largest petroleum exporters.

I think at the rate things are going, this latest threat by the Chinese will be ignored. Just to spite them they will give the Dalai Lama all the diplomatic perks given to other international leaders that visit the White House, and afterward a formal sit-down with the President. They may even go as far as to all him to speak before Congress and the Senate. Personally, I think this is payback for the Chinese not going along with the US and it's allies concerning Iran. The Sino/US relationship is really getting interesting this year.

Its not Anti American or Anti America on my part.. its Anti US Empire and Anti Bigot.

You have a very valid point.. China are playing a game that is very one sided..

But didn't the US recently threaten China with a similar sort of outcome if they didn't back sanctions against Iran? Diplomatic isolation is as bad as trade wars. Where is the fairness there?

And allow a deal where high tech weaponry are being sold to Taiwan in the usual manner of the US foreign policy destabilization game?

So the US can go around doing these things and it is fine but when they are rebuked and returned.. it is unfair?

Please explain the logic to me when viewing the overall picture.

Obama to meet Dalai Lama despite Chinese protest

U.S. President Barack Obama still plans to meet the Dalai Lama, the White House said on Tuesday, despite China warning that such a meeting would hurt ties between the world's biggest and third-biggest economies.

Go meet him but be nice to your creditor Obama!

Who does the US tell China not to talk to? Nobody? Would they NOT meet with someone if the US said something similar? I doubt it. I'm growing sick of China trying to flex their muscle. I say we just ignore them....

Dalai Lama, JFK, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Nelson Mandela. All of these men struck such great fear into their enemies by being noble and true. They were hated for being loved.

Fear and kneel to a bunch of ragtag ruffians called the CCP and their bunch of inept bootlickers online and offline, an illegal govt of the great civilisation known as China populated by resiliant and hardworking people but are made slaves today?

Since when? What is diplomacy if americans have to kneel before despots and listen to their commands? What next - perform hoops and roll over play dead, a nation peopled by the greatest democracy and inspiration to other freedom loving people on Earth?

Stick and shaft the entire arm up. The freedom loving people of US make their own foreign policy, and not dictated by an illegal non representative govt of slave traders!

Where is the arrogance in my statement? Those were serious questions and my suspected answers...but I don't claim to know, thus the reason I was asking. However, I see no arrogance in my statement...is it the "Ignore China" part that you consider arrogant?

You shouldn't say who does the U.S. tell china not to talk to
U.S. robs foreign nations of their sovereingty, telling another nation to not talk to a monk is pale in comparison.
This is beyond pot meets kettle.

It's okay to say China shouldn't tell Obama not to speak to the Lama, but don't say who do we say to don't do this or that.

That's all i'm saying.

The chineese have done terrible things to the tibetans...
I wonder what is their agenda with this so called warning.

I have met the Dalai Lama in Meclod Ganj- Dharamsala, on my travels to India.
(Not in person, He gave a lecture to some 40 people)
He is an amazing person, of great wisdom.
You can see in his eyes he is a man of peace and tolorance.

In my opinion I say meet with the Dalai Lama anyways. Who cares what China has to say, if they try anything against us it would be MAD. The Chinese are our credit cards and we are the ones who give their damn people jobs. We need to end all ties with China and if they want to drop the dollar and send us into hyperinflation, I say go ahead it's gonna happen anyways, better sooner rather than later. We just need to do what Thomas Jefferson said and we wouldn't be worried about the likes of the Chinese.

Well, on the flip side, If I were China and the US had told me not to talk to someone....I would ignore that too.

It's NOT "the pot calling the kettle black". It's simply a belief that one nation should not interfere with another nation's business. By all means, if the US is telling China not to meet with other world leaders, then I would feel the same way....ignore the US.

Did you just compare Osama Bin Laden with the Dalai Lama?!

It amazing that China with all its power and money are still afraid of the influence held by the Dali Lama?
China has been looking for an excuse to cripple us as a nation for sometime. What will truly be scary is if China starts to call in some of the debt we owe them? People do realize that our country is living on borrowed time since our country is essentially broke. We were once a world power but that seems to be slipping and fading away.
It makes me wonder though? Is this all a part of the plan for the US to become part of the North American Union? Seems like the powers that be our slipping one more nail into the coffin.

This is a serious question in response to an earlier post. If China demanded us credit paid back and the us refused what would happen?

War,sanctions, wouldn't it destroy China quicker then any war? What would the us lose really? Crappy goods?

Definately a threat. Looks as though several of the world's leaders are trying to push Obama's buttons. Seeing if he can, or rather will, flex any muscle.

The world always tries to test a new president's mettle.

Bowing to everyone says to me that obama has none.
