“A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news,” said PPP President Dean Debnam in his analysis of the poll. “But the media landscape has really changed, and now they’re turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear.”

It is really hilarious to read a poll which claims that Fox News is widely trusted.

In my opinion, you have to be braindead to believe that Fox News is not trying to replace Obama with Sarah Palin, and that makes Fox News the biggest joke in the entire world -whether Sarah Palin wins or not.

In the meantime, if the entire process is not perverted, Obama will clearly be a two term President because he clearly has the intelligence that is necessary to lead.

I'm not so sure he'll get another term. I agree he's very intelligent and certainly charismatic, but I believe a lot of people's opinion of him might be changing. Where I'm from I hear a lot of previous Obama supporters who are now against his policies.

Honestly, and this will sound bad, but I think many folks voted for him simply because they wanted to FINALLY have an African-American in the White House. I know I was guilty of this; I'd probably do the same if it was a woman running for office simply because I want someone to break that glass ceiling. But now that we've passed that barrier, perhaps those of us who voted "emotionally" will actually pay more attention to the issues next time around.

And of course the election is still a ways off.....lots can change between now and then.....

S&F for an interesting read!

The media like politicians bow to who owns them.

As long as Obama follows the Bush agenda he may get a second term. You usually don't change presidents in the middle of a war. I don't mean Afghanistan, Iran or Iraq when I say war. He is pushing China to attack us for some reason. Probably to get that second term.

I include polling organizations in with media.

I don't think it is possible to own any intelligent person.

Yes, they are. There are a number of approaches to this kind of thought manipulation, but the most dangerous is in those polls that are meant to lead the public to thinking they believe something that they really don't.

One of the most recent and memorable instances happened in 2006-07 when the MSM began reporting that the public favored a basic amnesty for illegal aliens. The idea was to convince you that everyone was for it so therefore, you should be as well.

Of course, the polls showed just the opposite was true and not a single network, most notably CBS and CNN, ever explained how their results got so completely spun around.

It is nothing short of designer polling and social engineering via the media.

It happens on other issues as well. The one listed above is only a single instance and to be absolutely sure, both left and right will use it... just as they use the red vs. blue koolaide wars to keep us a house divided.

I still think that Zogby is the most reliable pollster, and that poll indicated that Scott Brown would lose to Martha Coakley.

Do you think it's possible that the outcome of the election in Massachusettes was determined less by the voters and more by Diebold Tampering?

I challenge you to find a poll that hail MSNBC as most trusted. Because according to your example it should be easy to do.

Not only does FOX News have a flattering poll in their favor. They also have the ratings to back it up.

Obama a 2 term president?
It only took one year for the novelty act to wear off. He will not have the support of the uneducated masses next time. Some people vote 1 time in their entire lives, and Obama collected a majority of them the first time.

I watch Fox for entertainment purposes.

That does not mean that they have newsworthy credibility.

In my opinion polls have always existed to shape public opinion. Many people are followers that really don't pay attention to what is happening and just go along with the popular choice. So if they see a poll showing that 70% of the public support one politician over the other they will also throw their support behind the most popular candidate.

People should ignore the polls and form their own opinion but that would require them to actually pay attention to what is going on in the world.

Don't you just hate it when the media repeats questionable polls to create the false impression that he is less popular than he really is?

If all the pundits cite polls which claim that Obama is a failure, why does the media believe them?
