UT001: Analysis of Soil Samples Related to the Delphos UFO event (Delphos, Kansas, 11-02-1971)

DELPHOS, of course! Only one of the most documented UFO events ever, a classic. No wonder it slipped my mind, it was only looming over me.

"Kinda disappointing" is a phrase that pops up a lot for me when I do further research on cases that have puzzled me for years, like finding important details have been omitted from versions of the story I heard before. Or like finding out that Glenn Dennis made up the name of the nurse who was a key witness for the Roswell incident.

Why is it that some of the "best" cases, often don't have any pics or vids? Could it be because sometimes the pics and vids lead to further analysis which could offer more prosaic explanations for the sighting? I don't really know of any kick ass evidence with pics and vids, but here's an interesting case that I find very difficult to explain with prosaic explanations.. There are FOIA documents released on this, but I've never seen any pics or vids.

That's another case that fascinated me and again it was "kinda disappointing" to find out that was about the 15th ufo they had seen. While that doesn't really disprove the case, it really detracts from the credibility since many of us who have spent decades looking for a UFO have yet to see one and even "lucky" people may see 1 or 2 in their lifetime.

Heres an interesting summation from NICAP's Francis Ridge:

“The following is what makes Ufology worth pursuing - we already have:

1) Millions of sightings worldwide and a hundred-thousand-plus sightings are on computer (UFOCAT).

2) 3,000-plus sightings from aircraft (Dr. Richard Haines).

3) 489 radar cases, many radar/visual (Dominique Weinstein); 363 radar cases, 76 as R/V (USAF records alone).

4) 5600 trace cases documented, 4104 involving UFO visual sightings (CUFOS).

5) Over 500 cases of E-M effects associated with UFO sightings (CUFOS) and 185 E-M cases documented involving UFOs near aircraft (Dr. Richard Haines).

6) Hundreds, if not thousands, of excellent close encounters by credible observers whose testimony in court would be taken at face value.

7) About 4,000 (701 originally) UNKNOWNS listed in Project Blue Book files.”

Francis Ridge,Site coordinator,NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena)

I don't think multiple sightings automatically discredit a witness. The No.1 reason that people see UFOs at all is because they're looking UP. Most people go through life without ever looking up, it seems, while a small number of people are looking skyward constantly — and not just looking at the sky, but looking deep into the sky, which is an acquired talent.

I think those who have seen more than one UFO in their lives are the ones we should be following, because they're doing something right that the rest of us aren't.

I've seen 3 UFOs in 50 years. There are people down in Florida and Arizona who have seen 50 UFOs in 3 years. It has to do with locale, and it has to do with looking for the things all the time.

I would much less trust an inexperienced observer than one who knew well the subject of his search and had a proven track record behind him.

I agree, it's not automatic. But it doesn't help their credibility IMO.

When one person has 15 or 50 UFO sightings, my first guess is that they are seeing UFOs like this one:

This has to be 100% genuine???

Being experienced at being wrong 49 times doesn't make them any more right the 50th time.

You do realize that anyone posting anything remotely obtained by means other than public internet access is placing himself in physical danger. That being said, i would suggest you look at the tree rather than forest. (Just a humble pointer)

Hi, starshiner: as promised, I'll share my thoughts.
I'll do a long story short: while i would have appreciated more some request for "some cases" rather than for some pics and vids, from you, I do appreciate the pragmatism in your request, so I won't mention many extremely compelling case which are characterised by some lack of visual evidences (and the list would be LONG)

The first one that comes to mind is the Nellis AFB footage, recently discussed here:

The second one is the UFO filmed by Kosmonaut Musa Manarov , from MIR, in 1991;

Kosmonaut Musa Manarov filmed the approach of a PROGRESS cargo flight, when he suddenly discovered a cigar-shaped object, surrounded by a rotating light, floating in space. He filmed the complete maneuver of the UFO for over two minutes. (see UFOs: Footage Archives, part 2) In 16 May 1996, he was interviewed by our co-worker Valerii Uvarov. August 1991: A luminous sphere comes from deep space, passes MIR and enters the earth atmosphere - filmed by the Cosmonauts Volkov and Krikaliov. The footage was officially released by the Russian Space administration. (see: UFOs: The FOOTAGE ARCHIVES, part 5)

Another one that comes to mind is the Mariana UFO Incident, occurred and caught on camera in Great Falls (Montana) in August 15 1950 (August 5 according to some sources)

At 11:25 am on August 5 or August 15, 1950, Nick Mariana, the general manager of the Great Falls "Electrics" minor-league baseball team, and his nineteen-year old secretary, Virginia Raunig, were inspecting the empty Legion Stadium baseball field before a game. The Electrics were a farm club of the Brooklyn Dodgers. A bright flash caught Mariana's eye and, according to his reports, he saw two bright silvery objects, rotating while flying over Great Falls at a speed he estimated to be two hundred to four hundred miles per hour. He believed that they were roughly fifty feet wide and one hundred and fifty feet apart. Mariana ran to his car to retrieve his 16 mm movie camera and filmed the UFOs for sixteen seconds. The camera could film objects in color, but could not record sound. Ms. Raunig also witnessed the objects. The day after Mariana's sighting the Great Falls Tribune, the city's daily newspaper, described his sighting and the film in an article which was picked up by other media outlets. For several weeks after the sighting Mariana showed his film to local community groups, such as the Central Roundtable Athletic Club.

There would be more in my humble opinion, but that's all for now:
perhaps they aren't some "kick ass evidences", but of course they're way better than a kick in the ass

Thanks for all this info and especially those commences from the Nellis AFB footage internos,
I did see that marvelous footage before but I never heard [very difficult to follow for me] that audio, so great that you posted them in writing.

I once thought they were playing with one of their toys [ARV’s], but reading their reactions, that can't be the case.

If you really want to see one, heres some advice. Go outside, lie down on a blanket, watch the stars. But intend on seeing a UFO, and with out doubt i garuntee you, in time, you will see some kick ass evidence.

This will take time, anywhere from 1 day to a million, depending on how much you want it, and how much of reality you are willing to let go.

I suggest before you do this method though, to spend a night before looking for satellites so you know what a satellite looks like and how they move...then you wont mistake the ISS for the mothership.

My alien craft are much more advanced than your alien craft. Do you honestly think and advanced civilization would let you see them if they wanted to come here secretly? The alien spaceships look like clouds or hummingbirds. They do not fly around in metal saucers, people would shoot at them. If a real spaceship was put on this site as a UFO, the poster would immediately be banned and his pic labeled a hoax. I highly doubt alien visitors are all mentally retarded.
