In 2009 there were 643 reports of bizarre lights, strange spheres and curious orbs in our skies — a figure only beaten in 1978.

UFO expert Nick Pope said 31 years ago there were 750 reports from panicked members of the public. But this is the last time the Ministry of Defence will release these figures.

The government closed their UFO hotline just before the end of last year, after it had been running for almost 60 years.

The files contain sightings from military personnel, police officers and air traffic controllers.

Mr Pope, who used to run the MoD's UFO project, said last night: "This is incredible. Britain is being inundated with UFO sightings. I'm sure the record would have been smashed had the MoD not terminated the UFO project late last year. These sensational figures just show how wrong that decision was. There are sightings here from military personnel, police officers and air traffic controllers."

i post this in response to another thread only just put on the site about a meeting of world scientists and astronomers gathering to discuss ET life already being on earth.

im not sure what to think about all the sightings that are taking place recently and the fact the MoD canceled their UFO project.

could it be because disclosure is coming and a UFO hotline will not be necessary any more? perhaps there is a link between the sightings and the closure of the UFO hotline? perhaps the government are trying to open our minds a little before disclosure in order to soften the blow?

or could it be the contrary...perhaps disclosure isnt coming and the government want to reduce the amount of information that the public is exposed to.

what do you guys think? either way i find this very interesting

IMHO The UK has shut down its UFO hotline because they KNOW that things are going to really heat up shortly and that this hotline will not be able to handle the amount of calls and paperwork. From what I understand TPTB are going to play their hand very soon.

2009 was a great year for us ufologists

2010 will be much bigger IMO

Nick Pope has already proven himself to be some british version of Jaime Maussan: he claims that whatever is being spotted in UK skies defies any possible explanation regardless the value of the sighting: i don't care what is his background: he's damaging serious research and he should STOP spreading bs just because he works for The Sun: he's not an analist, hes a PUPPET.
Ask to the man what happened to THESE photos : ask to him to provide us with the ACTUAL PHOTOS or, alternatively, to SHUT UP.

The closer we get to 2012,the mere ufo`s we will see. Ufos has been gathering up lately. But its not a bad thing, the bad thing is us humans. The next months we will have alot of trouble when it comes 2 the war situation. If u see a spaceship, climb onboard and get out of here
=u will prolly be thrown out though,we humans are NOT worthy of getting to the next level of existence

A memo has been leaked that says the MOD will destroy new reports of sightings after 30 days of holding them.
Sightings on the increase yet they close the hotline and now this? Hmmm something stinks here!

I have heard.
I thought Iky had all the truth in the UK bottled up.
MOD layoff in the UFO report group.
They got too smart.
Not good for government workers.
See you on the outside ex MODers.
Step over to the Tesla side.
