Ok.www.tvsd.org...
I have a question.
where is all the money being raised for Haiti going???

I have not donated ANY money anywhere, because I remember the whole stir after 9/11 on how Red Cross money wasn't going to where it was supposed to going , for the reson that people donated it.

So, if you do a search for Haiti fund raising, you have the HOpe for Haiti (at last call 57 million), susan boyle is singing a special song for Haiti, students from all over are raising money, restaurants, college sports teams, a new 'we are the world' single, pro sports teams, garage sales, bake sales, churches, governments....it just doesn't stop.

but in a country where the average income is 800.00 US dollars A YEAR....two questions....
Is the money going to the people who need it???

I was asking the same thing in this thread-

Give me your money.

It seems great minds think alike.

There are some sites out there calling the Bush/Clinton charity a scam, just a cover for money laundering.

Then you have the % of the donations that actually make it to any real cause. We all hear about the CEO of the large charities making outrageous salaries. How much money flows through these charities.

Why don't we do a search for charity fraud and embezzling cases, also accountability. They have tax exempt requirements here in the US so that could be another avenue of search.

It really does depend upon the charity... Some are less careful about their money than others...

My own preferences run to catholic food charities, of which there are several... there are many non denominational ones such as doctors without borders and other medical help charities... I've heard nothing but good about these folks...

So it depends upon the charity. Before you donate check 'em out...the legit ones won't care, the not so legit? Who cares what they think.

A good source:

Relief Web - Haiti

You will need to view all the documents, not just the funding source, to get a picture (probably still not the whole picture, but a good one) of what is going were...

^As always, if you decide to donate to a charity fund, research it thoroughly.

Do not understand me wrong ......I feel sorry for all those people and their losses but I do not trust any of these money collecters. The people in my country are very generous when it comes to donating money to people in need but more than once the money is .....just.....gone. The money that went to Thailand after the tsunami.......most of it gone or spent on people with wages of a Phd in heat.

luxury office space, administrative expenses, commercials and advertising, publicists, production costs, performance fees, first class travel and accommodations, etc..

Wyclef Jean Demanded a $100,000 Fee to Appear at a Fundraiser for His Own Hometown

A planned fundraiser for Wyclef Jean's charity in 2006 was canceled in part because Jean's personal $100,000 performance fee made the event too expensive, according to internal e-mails and a source familiar with the event. In 2006, a representative of FXB International, a French charity, approached Yele Haiti about co-sponsoring a benefit concert to raise funds to build a new school and community center in the village of Lasere, Jean's hometown.

The event, which the organizers hoped would raise $150,000, was to be held at Sunset Beach, Andre Belazs' Shelter Island Hotel in August 2006; Jean was to perform. According to this e-mail, obtained by Gawker from someone who was not one of its original recipients, Yele president Hugh Locke laid out Jean's personal fee for performing as $100,000, with an additional $15,000 slated to pay his band and production costs:

According to someone familiar with Yele, the event never ended up happening because it got "too expensive" to produce, in part because of Jean's fee.

That's why, before anything else, you look at who you are giving your money to. Many charities don't have luxury offices, nor do they travel first class. As for advertising? People need to know they're out there how else other than advertise? Accommodations? One of those things you need to research...

Don't take their word for it. Look at them from as many sources as possible...

Many do waste money. Many, however, don't.

I recently wrote something on this topic and posted it to my Myspace Blog, and My Facebook. It was inspired by an ATS thread. The thread was...

Send me your money

What I wrote was about "Help For Haiti Now", how one of the foundations is the "Clinton Bush Haiti Fund". Clinton and Bush are both part of the Bilderbergs. The Bilderbergs, as most of you know, are the money hungry whores who (are said to) control the world.

Its not all that hard to fathom whats really going on.

By the way, thank you to the poster of this thread and the "Send me you money" thread!! S&F to both!

I'm glad you have posted this because the other day I googled where to make donations of food and clothing and found that they didn't want to accept any of those kind of donations, because it would "hinder, instead of help" relief efforts as per the red cross and the US Government. So the question is a valid one, the only answer I come up with is that we're being snowballed and some fat cat corporate A***Hole is pocketing the so called releif funds and are going to take over whatever precious natural resources Haiti has and strip them of it.

This is so disgusting to think about because I personally have friends from Haiti whom their husband/father/grandmother/mother is there, However they were not in direct hit, But still the money should go to help these devastated people, Not to be trickled down through these money hog CEO's.

Thats why i have decided that i will not put any more money in the pockets of global money swine. Its just another fine money scheme brought to you by the fine, stand-up individuals of the United States Government!! I honestly believe that The Bilderbergs, and HAARP are tied into this some how. It is sickening to think of how heartless, and brutal these people can be. This country is turning into something out of a Steven King novel.

To think that ATS is willing to advertise for AmeriCare and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.

While the AmeriCare advertisement just shows photos of people suffering in Haiti (who should be taken care of rather than having photos taken of them), the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund shows that the Republicans and Democrats are all under the same wing of the eagle.

Clinton and Bush are proving it right there in the ad. Of course we're supposed to feel touched that at such a difficult moment, even leading party opponents will get together and help. It's all a scam. A setup.

It's BS. I hope to find an independent Haiti Fund group to send the funds directly to the people who are suffering as a result of US hegemony, and of course also from the earthquake.

Let's not forget that the people of Haiti have been suffering for decades if not longer. My parents have been supporting the children of Haiti for almost a decade, and NOW is the time to help the people of Haiti? It should have been done collectively a long time ago.
