I grew up in northern NJ and there is a large state park in the town. There were a few abandoned tanks in the park, the story I heard was they were used to make trails till they broke down and were just left. When I saw them it was mid-late 80s and they were In very poor shape.

Yeah...those guys are probably hiding something...like a meth lab, and if you end up on the wrong end of someones property, some tweeker will scalp you and leave you for the ants.

So, let's see. You have all his gear, Geiger Counters, Radio's, Scanners and Cammo Gear and yet you haven't got a Digi Cam? A little bit weird, wouldn't you think? Especially since you make out to be someone who is prepared to a "T".

Just saying, that's all.

As far as what you have "discovered". We have the same sort of set up here, in Yarraman, Queensland, Australia. Those round Concrete Circles you see are the same as what I see and they are the Actual "Fuel Tanks". I've been inside the ones that I know here, and there are 5 of 'em, and they were used for storing Fuel. That's all. I would say that maybe, just maybe there were "Tanks, Vehicular Type" there at one stage but nothing that is out of the ordinary.

I think you might just be making a Mountain out of a Molehill.

There was nothing there to photograph. In reality, this was the first trip of many we planned to make. I am far more willing to take surplus gear with me than anything fragile. While you may find this weird, it is not to me. Cameras are expensive and fragile. Military surplus isnt and last I checked, no military made cheap digital cameras for civilian use. Even if I had taken a camer, I would not have taken pictures the first trip. I was more interested in finding the entrance underground that apparently doesnt exist.

Hey ok so I am making it all up and there is nothing strange going on here. The locals reactions were all completely normal for the questions I asked them. Everyone that told me of the place conspired to tell me the same basic story so I would waste my time looking at some concrete in the woods. In short, you guys have certainly let me down. Alot of you guys argue conspiracies with alot less to go on, but hey. I will go back someday and see what I find. When it is something more than nothing, I will not share it here. Sorry to waste your time.

This thread can be removed. I will report it now.

Well, if someone else goes there, they should avoid those places. I want pictures and more evidence of either instances. Whether gas farm or tank farm. I say there is more there than meets the eye. There was just to much oddity and coincidences and lack of evidence for me to shrug it off. That is why I spent a few hours putting this together for you guys. So you can help find the TRUTH not just "hurp derp ITS A GAS TANK FARM". I know what it is said to be, now let us find out what it really is.

Hey, I said I agree with a poster. You're going to go all jello over that? Jeez, buddy.

yeah I guess you could say I am a bitt pissed that I typed out a wicked long post about something I know is fishy. I know what a gas tank farm is. I know there was/is a gas tank farm on the surface. I am pissed that only a few people are interested and the rest are to busy trying to say there is nothing there by providing me material and media on tank farms. I am not denying anything about the tank farm. At all. I know it was used for that at some point. But what about what it was used for before that? What if the tank farm is a convenient way to hide the real purpose? If you or anyone here had been to the area and had seen the facility, you WOULD find it strange that there is a tank farm at the very top of the highest hill in the area only accessible by steep and otherwise treacherous roads surrounded by small and cheap houses. But hey, its only a tank farm and the government has nothing to hide from anybody!

There are whole conspiracies around a random power line in the middle of a desert and that is more conspiracy worthy than a place with alot more fishy stuff about it for sure.

Good place for it, you pump the fuel up to it, but do not need power to get the fuel from it!

Like I said, I made it all up. Nothing fishy here at all. Not a thing.

Ok, so the people here did not respond exactly like you wanted them to.
They won't always. They might not ever.
People on this site have been chewing on dozens of the worlds' biggest conspiracies since they became members here and many of them for even longer than that.

I appreciate your being honest about being pissed. It takes balls to say that. If you're a chic, sorry, but I mean metaphorical ones anyways.

People are bullheaded on this site and so are you and so am I.
You have to be to deal with the nature of the material that gets discussed. Don't be pissed they didn't go crazy over Tank Farm Road.
I've mentioned this next part on this site before but I'll tell you too, some of the best writers on this site , the ones who have many threads all of which make it up to the top four squares of the home page and stay there for a while; all those people have a handful of threads that nobody ever read.
Some are brilliant and just got missed.
Some are just people having fun.
But the reason it happens over and over is because they are good writers. Take a look at how many people have the word writer in their signatures. All are anyway just for being here. You are a good writer.
Don't walk around kicking the dirt from Tank Farm Road

Write another one and another one and so forth.
And there's quite a few people on this thread who really like what you wrote, think about that.

it has less to do with peoples reaction which doesnt bother me. It is the focus on the literal tank farm part. Obviously at one point in time it was a tank farm. I do not think the concrete circles re part of the actual base if there is one. I do not need people posting over and over that it is a tank farm. I am not an idiot. I get it. the road wouldnt be called tank farm and there wouldnt be signs from a gas company on the fence if it wasnt used as that at one point. Showing me pictures over and over of tank farms has NOTHING to do with the purpose of this thread. Period.

the reason I registered on this site was to post this and research other bases. Nothing more. I find most of the stuff here to be pretty off the wall to be honest while it is all mostly interesting, it is not of my interests. Bases are my thing. So I will not write a whole several post thread about something else because I do not claim to be a writer. I could care less about the entertainment really, and while I did write this as a story of sorts, it was to get the truth about the base. There is to much fishy stuff surrounding the entire thing and people are more inclined to post pictures of tank farms than even discuss the more mysterious parts. Like I said, for a conspiracy site I am greatly let down by the general response here. There was more response over a stupid powerline in the middle of the desert for omg underground bases. Why would they leave a trail for people to find and if it is underground why not produce the power needed underground? Kinda like why would you build a tank farm in such a treacherous place when there are several other large hills in the area more easily accessible?

I was, and no I have not. I wish I could go back. I live in Vermont now though so it makes it a little tough with it being a 15 hour drive or so to the place. :/

This has intrigued me mostly because I live in south central PA and I think more often than not I do tend to make something more than what it is...but I have one question and I am not trying to discredit you or anything but why did you not take the guy who told you about it, if he had obviously been there before wouldn't he have saved you a lot of time and effort by just taking you right where you were looking for in the first place?

Oh I forgot to mention that part. I had marked on one of the pictures that there was a hole in the fence in the upper right hand side. He had been caught going through that hole because it is close to someones house. I forget the exact details, but he got into some trouble for being there and they had even tried to blame the hole in the fence on him even though countless other kids from his school have apparently used the same hole. I say the kids are just to damn lazy to use the entrance I did. pretty secluded and no need for crawling through holes!

I marked it on the picture and then completely forgot to mention it! To be honest, I started to run out of steam towards the end of my "story". I should go back and fix it. :/

www.rhea.us...

PROBLEM/SOLUTION
Rhea Engineers & Consultants, Inc. (Rhea) provided technical coordination and field
oversight for the decommissioning of 20 groundwater monitoring wells at an inactive
petroleum storage tank facility located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A total of 20 groundwater monitoring wells were installed at the Site in fulfillment of the
PADEP’s Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act (Act 2).
Because the Act 2 activities are complete and the PADEP has accepted the Final Report
documenting attainment of the Act 2 provisions, the groundwater monitoring wells were
properly decommissioned in accordance with the PADEP’s Groundwater Monitoring
Guidance Manual, Section 7.0 – Well Abandonment Procedures.
The 20 monitoring wells were abandoned in place by completely filling the PVC-riser
with a cement-bentonite sealant; removing the PVC-riser to the extent practicable;
removing the above-ground, steel-protective casing; and rough grading the well location.
A Summary Table that provided construction details for the 20 groundwater monitoring
wells was prepared, and copies of the PADEP Well Abandonment Form were completed
for submittal to the PADEP. In addition, a well location figure and a boring log for each
of the decommissioned monitoring wells were compiled and submitted to the appropriate
agencies.

Sorry nothing out of the ordinary. I even researched it with Dominion.

You brought nothing new to the table I have not already seen. I appreciate the effort though. Also, I talked to the gas company that owns it as well back in the day and they told me there was nothing out of the ordinary here. Granted it was over the phone so it could have been anyone telling me this, but I do not think they would tell me even if it WAS an old base.

The pipes I found were not closed off or covered. Neither was what appeared to be ventilation equipment near the pipes. I mentioned that earlier, but it keeps getting overlooked. The fact that this location WAS USED AS A TANK FARM is not debated. What it was used for before that is the issue here. Why have ventilation stuff coming out of the ground for no reason? Why have uncapped pipes running into the ground in the same area that seem to be bottomless. I know they arent, but I couldnt get a depth from them using any intelligent methods. Why would two unconnected people tell me almost exactly the same story about the tanks and blast door? Seems a bit odd for two stories to be so similar with NO truth behind it. Even a small shred of truth would mean something is there other than the BS that keeps getting posted. I researched the HELL out of this place. Online and locally. There is nothing out of the ordinary to find and it all seems pretty mundane. But that still does not absolve all of the rest of the oddities surrounding this. Like I said before, I figured you guys would be able to access resources I could not as that seems to be the thing here. I guess all in all I need to just go back there and prove one way or another what this place was as noone really seems to believe what I have provided. I was expecting better, but am not surprised.
