Very informative tutorial, but I just wondered how some members have avatars which appear longer than the template one? Is it some sort of repeating background behind the avatar? Like on websites with repeating backgrounds?

To the OP, why does your avatar have a long black space at the top and then the avatar image below it on some posts and yet on others it seems different?

This a great tutorial, the thing is every time I try to click on any image in 'My Pictures' I get a broken link. I have uploaded several pictures and always get a broken link when I click on them.

I am really not sure what I have done wrong.

Ok. try it a different way and see if it works...
Go to Member Tools (toolbar above) click the button and scroll down to Media Portlal Account.
Click.
That should take to media.abovetopsecret.
Sign in using your username and password.
Once signed in, top right of the screen is My Account. Click and scroll down to My Pictures.
From there, you can upload from your desktop. Once uploaded, double click on the picture and copy and paste the link of the picture using the "go to ATSProfile (for avatar) link.

Hi Lady, I have already tried it this way, still get a broken link. It says on the broken link page CUin2013 without the ? I really think the ? is throwing the url off when it tries to access the single pictures. Thanks for the reply.

Ah, bummer. If a mod. doesn't step in and answer your question (they may miss this thread) try alerting them via the alert button. If it is the (?) in your username, someone should be able to tell you for certain and you can go from there. Good luck.

In Searching for help I came up with this old thread.
I would like to put an image in my avatar.
I wanted to follow these instructions but came up to a problem right away-
I do not have any "My Pictures" area to click on.
In my Tools scroll out there is a "Old pictures", that if I click on, goes directly to some videos?

Has this whole set up changed since this thread was made?

There should be an ATS Uploads button when clicking on Tools+.

Thanks. got it. It might be a good idea to update these sorts of threads to catch up with the changes that have happened since they were born!
