You mean ran after or chased? I've ghost hunted on and off for many years and yes I've ran after a ghost or apparition many times trying to catch
it.
99 percent of the time when you charge a ghost here's what happens. You actually get close enough to realize it wasn't a ghost at all.
It was a light or a reflection or a shadow, sometimes even your shadow, a coat on a chair, and heck one time it was just my own guitar leaning again
the wall.
Especially shadows. You see, the way human eyes and the brain works, you can get a shadow on a wall just right sometimes at just the right angle that
your own flat shadow will cause an optical illusion and screw up your depth perception.
All of a sudden your shadow appears to be a 3D full solid shadow figure (until you move a little or your eyes adjust). It'll scare the crap outta
you.
My mother in law has actually lived in two places now, both with a perfect hallway for this effect. If you walk down it when all the lights in the
house are off and at just the right angle, all of a sudden your own shadow pops off the wall and appears to be standing right in front of you. That's
got me a few times.
Couldn't find an example done with shadows though, but if you want to know how this optical illusion basically works you can check out this link.
Same basic effect just done with paint instead.
3D Effect
Neverthless, there is that 1 percent of the time that I, in my opinion, actually did chase after a real apparition and here's what happens every
single time, 100 percent of the time if it is actually a ghost.
The apparition either runs away very quickly and then quickly vanishes, or just simply vanishes without running away.
I've noticed most times they vanish, they like to do it when you're not looking at them for some reason. If you turn your head they're gone.
However, if you keep your eyes on them they'll move very very fast trying to get out of your eye sight so they can then vanish.
It doesn't always work like that, but a good predictor if they'll run away or move before vanishing, is if you're trying to keep your eyes on them.
However, even if you can manage to track where they're going perfectly with your eyes, they'll eventually just vanish anyway.
If it's a sound or an "auditory apparition " The sound will simply go away.
They never make any effort to stick around or communicate with you. They're just gone. Bye-bye.
Also, some times on a ghost hunt after they vanish, you'll start to hear banging noises or some other kind of noise in some far room. If you chase
after it to that room, the noises will stop again. Sometimes you'll spend your entire ghost hunt just running from room room trying to catch what's
making the noise.
Typically though, after it vanishes, that's it for the ghost hunt. That'll be the last thing you see and hear for the night and you might as well
pack it in.
Also, sometimes after the ghost vanishes, you may be physically attacked in some way such as being scratched, hit, pushed on, or pulled on, but this
is rare. Most of the time they just vanish and your ghost hunt is over for the night.
