Hello I can't tell you my name because it's top secret. But I am a huge geek in this sort of subject. I have this idea that the no cussing club is part of the illuminati for elliminating freedom of speech and expression but I want to know if you think that is the case.

Welcome to ATS.

As for the No Cussing Club (I admit I had to use Google - never heard of it before)...well, dunno...

...personal opinion is if you can't make your case without swearing like a sailor, then really that perhaps speak more to ones own articulative abilities than any restriction upon freedom of speech...

Peace.

Well, I don't think that's the case. It seems like this boy has started a movement because he does not like cussing and he equates it with a lack of intelligence.
Just my opinion.
I have to add that this would never take off over in Ireland

Welcome.
I embraced my "inner dork" long ago. I think around grade 6 when I started painting D&D figurines.

Hi and welcome to ATS!

Question: is there a difference between a Nerd, Geek and Dork?

I really don't know.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Nerds are looked upon as strange because they're interested in things average people aren't, and they're highly intelligent and high achievers.

Geeks do weird stuff but aren't as intelligent and generally not self-starters. Typically, minions of nerds.

Dorks have no particular specific redeeming qualities. Half bright, low level generally obnoxious, like the guys who work at the bowling alley just so they can sniff the rental shoes.

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Michio Kaku, Stephen Hawking, all nerds. The people who work closely for them are geeks. The dorks have no involvement unless they work for subcontractors on the janitorial crew.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.
