Our survey says: "INGK, URGH!"

Please, this is your story. Stop putting falsehoods into it. She's no journalist and she did conduct the interviews.

Ah, the truth, that old gem. Well my theory seems to hold up to basic scrutiny (but please, try and supply some), so does that make it true too?

Well, the proof is in the pudding. That link I supplied to Greg Paris, a scientist from Cambridge University, doesn't seem to think the film will 'resonate' with anyone who is versed in deeper cultural musings.

I'm sorry you feel that I am coming across as all high and mighty. I am merely showing you potential errors in the story you believe. I could very well be wrong (I'm not) but I wish to help you achieve a better form of critical thinking which in turn will give you a genuine awe feeling at the truly unexplainable.

"Shes no journalist" hmmm?

Well here is text from YOUR link and story.

"Two days later, something landed in a schoolyard in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, with three or four things beside it, according to journalist Cynthia Hind."

here:

What was all that about falsehoods?

Ha ha, you've proper got your teeth into this so I wanna see those links!

Computers at work are so awful its just a joke. I've had tamagotchi's that do more tricks than this crapbox.

I just want see the other side, I've not even heard of that Cynthia Hide, and there is always a proponent to every argument. Regardless of what anyone believes someone will oppose it, that's what makes it interesting!

Oh goodie, my own links coming back at me on a story I only just found out about today!!

Right... so is this the bit where I go off and show you that she's no journalist or is this the bit where I explain that someone who presented one piece to camera because she was near enough to it is called a journalist by those who know no better.

I mean, I didn't write the piece. Had I it would be factual, presented in such a fashion as to not be misrepresented or misunderstood and it would have cited everything I find wrong about this story in a way similar to what I have written here.

But the decision is yours. You want me to supply proof that she's no reporter, accept the claim someone else made due to her conducting the 'interviews' or both??

Tell you what, why don't you meet me in the middle and we'll each pick one and supply the evidence here - that way we've both worked to further investigate your claim rather than it being all about me ripping it apart?

Seems fair to me!

Hey Crazy, I'm here because there are things that are unexplained. I like to get my teeth into it all though. I'm only really happy when it beats me (or people much better at this than I).

Glad you are enjoying the show!

Sure thing! Just show me where I said that and I'll happily add it into a quote for you.

Could you quote in your reply to me the bit about how awesome I am and how I rule and other folk drool?

Cheers!

What I'm saying Fran is the story is hogwash. But if you wish to discuss it in detail in the correct forum then you should try this link here.

I see 404 has split, so as always I will do the actual work for him about the person he claims is a reporter for a link I posted to give him clarity about the story...okay, here goes...

Oh Noez!! She's dead.

DING!, DING!, DING!, DING!

What'd they win Johnny??

The following sad news was received today from Maria Sullivan, Assistant Editor of UFO AFRINEWS

Dear John Hayes,

This is to advise you that sadly, Cynthia Hind died on August 21st, after a very short illness. Mercifully, she passed away peacefully in her sleep and did not linger on in pain or suffering.

I'm sure you will miss this vibrant, caring, talented woman -- writer, raconteur, brilliant communicator and a UFO investigator respected world-wide. With her death, UFO AFRINEWS comes to an end, 12 years after it first saw the light in July 1988.

I would appreciate it if you could put an item to that effect in UFOINFO. Many thanks.

Sincerely,

Maria Sullivan
Asst Editor, UFO AFRINEWS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was only in contact with Cynthia a few times and found here to be extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Her death from cancer has come as a great shock to me as it has to many others in the 'UFO world.'

John Hayes.
Webmaster UFOINFO.

It's sad that she's dead, and it gives me no comfort, but let's stick to the investigation eh?

That doesn't say she was a journalist!! Let's check out the BBC, they keep excellent records of everything....

All they've got is a quick article on a UFO conference from December 1997 with Cynthia Hind as one of many, many guest speakers - nothing about her being a reporter or journalist or interviewer or nuttin'!!

Let's check the newspapers eh?? She must have been a journoporter at some point because...well a website said it, and we all know they are 100% fact all the time.

Nope, only paper she's appeared in that you have access to is a small British one about how this guy met her and is now a UFOlogist himself. Feel free to pay for the subscription or get an educational establishment to grant you access to Athensweb or whichever journal scheme they use local to you - still nothing about her being a journo there though.

So in short. An article I linked to says she's a journalist, yet nowhere - NOWHERE - did I say that - yet in your mind Splity, I not only said it, it was my downfall and defeat.

Let's see what I've actually said a couple extra times eh?

... a bumbling UFO investigator with an agenda

So in short Fran; an ill-equipped UFO investigator sullied any truth that could be garnered from the story by having 10 of the older kids from a possible 62 kids consent together on the story. This implies that they would all be singing the same song because their stories would be straight (or straight enough for her to make money from it) as they knew what each other was saying.

Did it happen? I've no idea. But as stated it's all gone to pot now and the latest video that'll be out in Spring will bring no more answers - just some more r£ddi3$ for the film makers - as is always the case with these stories.

How does this relate to the OP's post.

Show me 2 things this woman has predicated that has come true (beside blue aliens with tails) and I shall consider her worthy of investigation.

I also hope Split, that you know when we sceptics get serious about investigation - we really do get into it.

Have a nice one all and feel free to continue your talk of the Zimbabwe case in the appropriate thread.

It's a movie. That means it's not real unless it's based on a true story which it isn't.

Your not entirely wrong

Dimethyltryptamine is theoretically produced in the pineal gland of the human brain. The pineal gland is largely responsible for the production of Tryptamine, so it stands to reason it can just as easily be responsible for the production of Dimethyltryptamine.

Its a grey area, really.

As for whether Pandora is a real place or not? Id say no, just a nice concept and metaphor for our own planet.

As much as I enjoy getting hate mail Split404, especially the type that attempts to be erudite and sardonic, I don't use my U2U for that purpose.

I am sorry if you are currently unable to post here. I figured your post count would be above 20 by now and that skunk works would work for you - perhaps it's an error with your account or other matters unknown to me.

I don't think it's reasonable for either of us to continue this discussion as you either seem unable to grasp what I am saying, or I am communicating poorly with you. Either way it's a waste of both our energies.

I wish you all the best on your studies into the paranormal and hope that the time you spend here on ATS is worthwhile, educational and surrounds you with good friends.

I will be choosing not to see your posts from now on in - please don't take this as an insult, take it as a way of us not having to do this unfortunate dance again.

I wish you every success.

Just had to drop in and let you know how much I'm admiring your work in this thread. Well done spot on mate.

I'm a journo too because I put a classified ad in the local rag. Jeez some people. I watched the second video and about 4 kids all had different stories. As you said, once upon a time this could have been a decent case but it's all gone now.

Oh and to the OP about 'avatar' you can't have read much in your life if you've never come across a story on printed paper that resembles a movie made years later. Every story has already been told time and time again.

You should check out Well's 'the shape of things to come'. Read the book then be amazed at how spot on the movie is and marvel at the depiction of a TV/monitor screen that to this day has not been bettered. My point? You're reaching so far beyond your grasp that I'm embarassed for you. If it hadn't been for moriarty I'd have been ashamed to post in this thread.

Rant over, back to the argument about brain chemicals or the one about a bunch of kids seeing a military craft land and a black leather clad pizza delivery guy get out.

Cheers Spookfish, it really makes a difference when you get a little bit of feedback to let you know that at least someone understands where you are coming from!! Made this all worthwhile now

Split404, if you are still around (I have set it so I can't see your posts any more). I also received your other U2U telling me the problem with posting a new thread rather than a new post.

Happens to me sometimes too - easy mistake to make.

However I'm asking you now to stop U2U'ing me as I think it's best resolved for each of us if we go our separate ways and at least let the heat of the day disperse a touch.

I hope you can read this, and if my request has been met, I should not see you posting on the boards or find messages from you in my U2U inbox.

Best of luck,

-m0r

Wow I don't think I've ever heard of u2u stalking before. Oh noes that renders my previous post about 'it all happening before' incorrect. Damn him split managed to get an original thought out after all.

Hey split if you're getting stalking withdrawl come and harass my in box. I love a good laugh.

But seriously though why not sit down with some crayons and flesh this story out, make it more coherent and believable. I'm sure there must be some worthy witnesses, it's not like the poor and destitute community would think up a way to earn a few bucks. It's not like any of them will have seen the millions of X file repeats on the community TV down at the shop

Hey split, chill man it's all good.

Peace.

The avatars were not an advanced species, they had no technological advances. It was a nice movie, and hey who knows maybe there is a race of species like the avatars somewhere, the odds of us every finding out about it ..slim to none, however, our greats, and greats might see it one day. Never say never right?..
