I was just reminded from another thread about the missing nuke that never arrived after its flight from Minot, ND to Barksdale, LA?

Anyone remember what the last of that story was.. where did it go?

I do remember, after words there being hell to pay. From what I understand happend a B-52 had a live B-36 nuclear weapon hanging from it's wing. Live but not armed. After this heads really rolled. Not being armed, if they were droped or the plane crashed the weapon would not explode. It could scatter it's nuclear material over a wide area of payload dispertion. We lost nukes off Georgia, Spain, and God knows where else. From what I have been told we may have lost up to a dozen hydrogen bombs. They should remain docile unless armed, and that requires a series of very complex codes.

The missing nuke is never mentioned in the press. Commander and few others lost their positions, several others involved died of mysterious deaths in a short period of time. Many "officials" visited base and waved their fingers and then business went on as usual.
