no I meant 246 check it

November 6, 2008 there had been 42,719 total aftershocks, of which 246 ranged from 4.0 MS to 4.9 MS

look at the link

en.wikipedia.org...

edit to add: I think it might also be important to note what it also says concerning within 72 hours:

Between 64 and 104 major aftershocks, ranging in magnitude from 4.0 to 6.1, were recorded within 72 hours of the main quake

and your link didn't work

There are tweets coming from the region that the Navy was testing "weapons" just before this EQ. No details, yet, but odd use of the term weapon instead of missile, artillery, etc.

Next question for the experts: I have checked out the USGS site for some time now and have noted that there are often quakes in the same region for several days (aftershocks) but I have noticed that most of them are recorded at close, yet varying depths. In this latest quake however, I have also noticed that *ALL* of the aftershocks as well as the main quake are at a depth of exactly 10 kilometers. Is that normal, and why?

Ballpark figure and then they update later when more data is collected ?

Believe this is the map we are referencing:

Could be, guess we'll see.

Edit: yes that's what I am referencing, the official USGS site.

I have no idea--- I just have a "bad" feeling about this. I feel so sick with empathy for all the people suffering right now. I pray for them all...

I dunno but I'm beginning to suspect *something*. The 10k kilometer recorded depths are odd (tho ok maybe "they" need to analyse the data before giving *actual* depths) the massive 4.0+ aftershocks (we are now at 29) as well as threads about this before the event happend. Quite interesting, tho it's REALLY tragic. It's too bad that *if* fabricated somehow or some way....it's beyond my understanding of the level of evil that could exsist, hence why I don't think most people *really* believe anything but pure nature is involved here. I hope this event, among many others are just "mother nature". If it is her, she's a pain in the ass.

Well actually it is bit more elaborate than that....

They are actually letting the continents drift away from each other in order to separate us. Makes for easier control......

/sarcasm

No, i do not think this was orchestrated. How could it??

Peace

Edit: my bad!! We are actually considering the involvement of some other power then tectonic plates drifting on the asthenosphere....

I am staying clear of this one!!!

I really think this is just an EarthQuake. Not HAARP. Not some sort of Weapon. Not something planned. Just a regular earthquake. I find all this talk of people being suss about things is only taking attention away from the actual issue. But hey, that's just my opinion. I know this is a conspiracy site, so probably should have expected this 9 pages ago.

Edited to add - if this is the way this topic is going, this is my last post. Thanks for everyone early in with the news updates and picture updates, but now it's being derailed and losing credibility fast. So i'll catch most of you in Quake Watch 2010.

Theres no doubt that we are talking about an earthquake and 29 large aftershocks. It's not like I'm saying "no plane hit the towers"...

im not thinking conspiracy!, i'm thinking mother nature has more up her sleeve, possibly volcanic eruption hence Volcanoes at Destructive Boundaries:
1. Plates move together due to convection currents
2. Heavier oceanic plate is subduced
3. Friction between the plates and heat from the interior causes the subducting plate to met
4. Melting of the plate creates molten magma
5. This magma is less dense than its surrounding and therefore rises and is erupted at the surface through a weakness in the crust creating a volcano.
6. Volcanoes at Destructive boundaries tend to be quite explosive due to the build up of pressure and gases.

Volcanoes at Constructive Boundaries:
1. Plates move away from each other due to convection currents
2. This creates a weakness / 'gap' in the crust
3. Magma is a able to rise to plug the gap forming lava flows and submarine volcanoes
4. As magma continues to build up above the surface of the ocean, volcanic islands (such as Surtsey) may form.
5. Eruptions at constructive boundaries tend to be gentle with little pressure build up
see my drift?

I actually agree with some of your questions you have been asking, so please don't think i'm taking a stab at you mate
it's just a few posts have slipped through where i've replied to the poster, and have been ignored because they are trying to come up with some idea or theory that must just seem a bit more 'exciting' or something.

I dont think questioning whether or not this could of been orchestrated in any ways devalues the moral and human tragedy of this earthquake. We have no idea what the governments at large are capable of.
