Very well said, OP, and right on too. I agree, it is time to stand up and be what we really are, ALL ALIKE! Except for a very few differences, such as skin color, and culture one is brought up in, we are all the same. Religion divides everyone, people! Religion, Politics, and Race are the dividing factors of mankind, and wouldn't you know it, mankind clings to these division points like a baby clings to a bottle, and uses them against other people, sometimes in a sinister manner. I made a post on this very thing a while ago, if you care to read it, it can be found HERE.

Unity is what mankind really needs right now, how long do you think the NWO would last if we are all together in thought and mind? How long do you think the oil companies would last if we were all together, and began to demand something different and cheaper? The powers that be are small, compared to the great masses of people in the world. We are all the same, really, if we could all just come right out of our human bodies, and could stand there in Spirit form, everyone could easily see that we are the same. You think the One Creator cares what religion you are? You think the Creator cares what name you use to call it? Wake up, people, and realize who and what you are dealing with here. I will tell you a little story to put you in the right frame of mind, OK?

A very long time ago, a group of Extraterrestrials came down to Earth from their home planet, which was near Earth at the time. Years went by, and the ETs saw that their creations were multiplying far and wide, and were consuming everything on Earth to survive. Also, they were multiplying fast. A plan was needed, fast.
So, the ETs decided to go here and there around the world, and pose as a God to the humans there. Then the people were told that not only would the God come back for them, his chosen, but that the other Gods were in fact evil, and Satanic in nature. In this manner, mankind would be culled in population, and would continue to do this on their own, and because of what? Do you see now how religion, a mankind invention, divides and conquers mankind even to today?

Shameful Religions; The title just seems redundant to me. When I read that, the first thing that popped into my mind was 'murderous killers' or 'thieving burglars'

I hear you, Majiq, it most certainly is shameful the way these book religious types still today kill each other in the name of their God(s). It's almost like one God vs another God in a field of battle, winner take all. Millions have died because of religious differences, and many more will die if something isn't done. Sometimes i think the world would be better off without religion at all.

Mutual religious tolerance is not only possible...its ongoing and ancient.

Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism have usually more or less accepted each other throughout Chinese history. In Japan, add Shinto to the list. Japanese go to both Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, and most have faux-"Christian" weddings these days.

In India, devotees of various Hindu dieties (Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna) have accepted each other more often than they have quarrelled.

A university student while visiting [Zen master] Gasan asked him: "Have you ever read the Christian Bible?"

"No, read it to me," said Gasan.

The student opened the Bible and read from St. Matthew: "And why take ye thought for rainment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these... Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself."

Gasan said: "Whoever uttered those words I consider an enlightened man."

The student continued reading: "Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened."

Gasan remarked: "That is excellent. Whoever said that is not far from Buddhahood."

There are certainly instances of inter-sectarian conflict in the above locations over the long span of time. But they seem to be the historical exception, rather than the rule. As the Zen people say, "Many roads, one mountain."

I do apologize if it seemed like I was grouping them together. For the purposes of this discussion I was using them as an example. I applaud your particular faith as it does demonstrate some of the ideals I believe we should strive for.

Blessings to you too.

I was going round ATS looking at various threads and noticed the trend many have of turning into a cyber-religious war, particularly between the Christians Vs Muslims.

WHAT? I am pretty active on ATS and I don't recall ever seeing a Christians v. Muslims cyber war; don't recall even a battle.
Dude, are you trying to false flag us?
If you've got the proof, tell me the categories where these battles take place as I have missed them.
Thanks.

I never it was recycled GARBAGE, I just said recycled. The myths, the figures, the morals are all taken from older religions.

The legend of Jesus himself was recycled from Osiris, Odin and a good number of other figures who came before him not that I'm denying his existence but mosdef the stories were exaggerated greatly, But yes everything about Christianity is recycled, right down to the hat on the pope's head.

I am sorry but you are mis-informed if you believe only Jesus preached about peace and love. Mohammed for example used to teach the believers that anyone who would return love only when love was given belonged on a lower ethical plane......"

Man you are just ramblin' along here....What pls are some of the "myths, figures, morals" of Jesus Christ taken from other religions? Otherwise, this is a rant seems to me. And then you go on to talk about similarities with what Mohammed preached? The factual chronology is that Mohammed was born hundreds of years after Jesus.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

And many, many more.
They all seem not to end up not worrying about the original OP and resort to name calling(myself included). There are hundreds more, where someone will exclaim "Islam is a violent religion, it's their fault" or "Christianity is a cult" and then arguments everywhere. People on both sides are ignorant of the other culture and just seem to say about what they hear about on the News.

They don't concern themselves with the issue at hand and use these forums to take sides about how evil one religion is.

And it would seem even this thread, thanks to you.

The fact is while Christianity might be one of the Earliest "peaceful" monotheistic Religion, for a long time it was anything but. I point you to the Witch burnings. I do not want to argue about this, but Christianity preaches WAR and PEACE, Just like every other religion in the world.

As for who Jesus was based on:
Horus

Born 3000 B.C, 25th December
Egyptian God
Born of a virgin (Isis-Merion =Mary)
His father was called “Seb” = Joseph
Adorned by 3 Kings
Star in the east
Teacher at the age of 12
Baptized at the age of 30
Had 12 disciples
Preformed miracles i.e. Healing the sick, walking on water etc...
Known as “the lamb of God/ the light” etc...
Betrayed & Crucified
Dead for 3 days
And thus resurrected

Attis

Born 1700 B.C, 25th December
Greek God
Born of a virgin (Nana)
Star in the east
Teacher at the age of 12
Baptized at the age of 30
Had 12 disciples
Preformed miracles i.e. Healing the sick, walking on water etc...
Known as “the lamb of God/ the light” etc...
Betrayed & Crucified
Dead for 3 days
And thus resurrected on March 25

Mithra

Born 1200 B.C, 25th December
Persian God

His birth was attended by shepherds bearing gifts
Star in the east
Worshiped on Sundays
Baptized at the age of 30

Known as “the Good Shepherd/ the light” etc...
Betrayed & Crucified
Dead for 3 days
And thus resurrected

Krishna

Born 900 B.C, 25th December
Indian God
Born of a virgin (Devaki)
Adorned by 3 Kings
Star in the east
Teacher at the age of 12
Was a Carpenter
Baptized at the age of 30
Had 12 disciples
Preformed miracles i.e. Healing the sick, walking on water etc...
Known as “the lamb of God/ the light” etc...
Betrayed & Crucified
Dead for 3 days
And thus resurrected

Zoroaster/Zarathustra

Born 628 B.C, 25th December
Iranian Prophet
Born of a virgin (“immaculate conception by a ray of divine reason.”)
He astounded wise men with his wisdom
Star in the east
He began his ministry at age 30
Had 12 disciples
Preformed miracles i.e. Healing the sick, walking on water etc...
Known as “the lamb of God/ the light” etc...
He was slain
He had a sacred cup or grail.
And thus resurrected
Zoroaster’s followers expected a “second coming” in the virgin-born Saoshynt or Savior

Jesus was a great man, but he was a prophet not a god, christianity turned him into a god.

Please I do not want to argue about this, this thread was me sharing some ideas, if you feel it needs to be moved I would welcome it. But do not turn this into a religious battlefield.

As soon as mankind gets a new bit of light or understanding concerning spiritual things, he immediately rushes out headlong to codify and solidify it into a new religion, thereby demolishing any potential uplifting gains with the onslaught of ensuing darkness that will most assuredly occur.

You must be thinking of someone else, when you say, " if Jesus were alive today"? Why would God resurrect The Imaculate Conception, so he could die again later? No. Jesus Christ walked amoung us and he is alive.

Many similarities in religions, yes. Jesus called Babylon the "Great Whore", and she in fact had children, whose characteristics mirrored her own. "Like mother, like child"
The Two Babylons written in 1853,(against Catholicism, mostly), describes the scam that has been perpetuated on humankind since the GREAT FLOOD.

I do apologize, maybe I should have said the reason Jesus hasn't made himself known is because he is ashamed. But without proof I cannot conclude this is all merely my opinions.

I'm sorry but you are wrong, yes the bible has incredible preachings of peace but just as the Koran it preaches War when nessecary. Neither Christianity nor Islam nor Judaism is a religion on absolute peace.
1) In Leviticus 25:44-46, the Lord tells the Israelites it's OK to own slaves, provided they are strangers or heathens.

2) In Samuel 15:2-3, the Lord orders Saul to kill all the Amalekite men, women and infants.

3) In Exodus 15:3, the Bible tells us the Lord is a man of war.

4) In Numbers 31, the Lord tells Moses to kill all the Midianites, sparing only the virgins.

5) In Deuteronomy 13:6-16, the Lord instructs Israel to kill anyone who worships a different god or who worships the Lord differently.

6) In Mark 7:9, Jesus is critical of the Jews for not killing their disobedient children as prescribed by Old Testament law.

7) In Luke 19:22-27, Jesus orders killed anyone who refuses to be ruled by him.

There are many references to war in both the Koran and the bible, however they both state War only when necessary, people take both these quotes out of context to serve their own purposes. The religions ARE peaceful, unfortunately the people who control the religions are not.

I do admire your faith though and your view of your holy book though.

there is one book that may not have join the mainstream biblical thoughts on war, but The Dead Sea Scrolls is one manual of what to do in case of war or battles with between the sons of light and the the darkies.
this scrolls are positively attributed to the essenes, a group of which jesus' mind set must have been influenced...if there really was a jesus...
