Germany prepares to face blizzard

news.bbc.co.uk

German households have been advised to stock up on food, medicines and drinking water as the nation braces for a blizzard that is heading its way.

Germany's Civil Protection Office (BBK) says heavy snowfalls expected on Saturday could trigger local power cuts and severely disrupt public transport.

"Households have been advised to keep three or four days' worth of provisions, including alternative cooking fuel in case of power cuts. Among the essential items listed by the BBK is a battery-powered radio, for checking weather reports."

Stock up on essentials. Winter weather is huge around the world at the moment.

Many locations in America have near arctic temperatures, with wind chills reaching to -40 degrees (F).

What is with the weather?

Interesting. I heard nothing from the "Civil Protection Office" about stocking up on food for three or four days. I guess I'm lucky the grocery store is right around the corner from me!

Maybe this warning if only for certain parts of Germany? Here where I'm at, we're supposed to only get between five and ten centimeters of snow; at least that's what the friendly weatherman said! I guess we'll see. I'm kinda looking forward to this storm, as weird as that sounds. We don't get snow storms back home in sunny south Florida!

Good luck Germany,
Hopefully it will not last too long, and its not what I am starting to think(the next ice age,as the planets magnetic field is altering).
Looking forward to Sunday when we in the UK get the second wave.
Brrr!Its grim up north.

Damned global warming!

In some areas of the UK today it reached right down to -21.2 or so degrees C, which is only a little higher than the record low in the uk which I think stands at something around the -27 degrees C mark.
