ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. - "Thou shalt not use a stolen credit card" isn't one of the Ten Commandments. But it seems like wise advice, especially after a man accused of stealing from several churches was tracked down through a purchase at a Christian bookstore.

Cecil T. Turner, 50, of Louisville, is accused of rummaging through at least three churches and stealing money and a credit card, police spokesman Terry Cox said.

Turner, who is being held on $5,000 bond, pleaded innocent Monday to charges stemming from the allegations. He is scheduled for a hearing next week.

On Friday, an employee at one of the churches - Grace Heartland Church - reported a credit card missing from her purse. The credit card company was notified, and they told police the card had just been used at the Lifeway Christian Bookstore in Elizabethtown.

A manager at the Alpha Omega Bookstore called police. Turner was arrested about 15 minutes later for fraudulent use of a credit card and three counts of third-degree burglary.

"He bought 10 copies of a Bible study called 'Making Peace With Your Past' and a follow-up study called 'Moving Beyond Your Past,"' bookstore manager Jonathan Gallegly said.

The elderly priest, speaking to the younger priest, said, "It was a good idea to replace the first four pews with plush bucket theater seats. It worked. The front of the church fills first."

The young priest nodded and the old one continued, "And you told me a little more beat to the music would bring young people back to church, so I supported you when you brought in that rock 'n roll gospel choir. We are packed to the balcony."

"Thank you, Father," answered the young priest. "I am pleased you are open to the new ideas of youth." "Well," said the elderly priest, "I'm afraid you've gone too far with the drive-thru Confessional.

"But Father," protested the young priest. "My confessions have nearly doubled since I began that!

I know, my son," replied the old man. "But that flashing neon sign, 'Toot 'n Tell or Go to Hell,' can't stay on the church roof!

You're out of context my man.

Unless your reply was "tongue in cheek", I'm disappointed.

Going into people's personal belongings, stealing cash and credit cards to purchase religious materials and self-help books - is wrong!

Please help me to understand your view of the world and objective reality - I must be quite ignorant to how religion is lived out in the real world.

Please help me to see the light, I appear to be lost....

I do appologise to you. I know you feel that this kind of behavior is unacceptable in the house of God. But so is Sexually abusing children.

Yes, religion is a joke to me now because I know that God has nothing to do with religion, as is seen in your story.

I was born and raised Catholic. But at an early age I saw the hypocrits, liers, cheats. They spoke of God, but lived as sinners. But did that mean that God wasnt real too?

Later in life I found Gods true home. I know where he lives, I know where he loves, I know my God. There is only one place to find him, and it isnt in a church!

When people start to realize they are more than just a body, they too will see where God is.

If you want to know , dont ask a preist, ask yourself, and If you are being very sincere maybe God will let you, see the light.
