What possible changes the Appearance of Imam Mehdi Could bring !

It's just not I am obsessed with my faith, but seriously I just wonder If someone had ever thought What possible changes the Appearance of Imam Mehdi the 12th Shiite Imam could bring to this earth. I don't need to emphasize the importance of Imam Mehdi in the lives of Shiite Muslims around the globe, you can just imagine from the speeches of Iranian President at UN there is hardly any speech without the mention of Imam Mehdi.

In my opinion if Imam Mehdi appears and people do believe in him then it would make him the most influential person ever in the history of mankind considering today's technology where a message from one corner of the world to other is reached within few seconds. Prophets were influential too but they didn't have today technology to spread their message so widely and quickly. right.

There seems to be about 200 Million Shiite Muslims in the World. And apparently they all be willing to obey any order Imam Mehdi gives to them. Even though he is not considered a Prophet among Shiite Muslims but they would follow his order as given by Prophet Muhammad. and If by any chance Sunni Muslim also put any faith with him (as they do believe in Appearance of Imam Mehdi but with little different view) then his followers would be over 1 Billion.

I'd imagine Jesus would be far more influencial if he reappeared. However that would never ever happen because he is a myth just like all religious figures. Sorry to burst your bubble but you believe in a lie.

I am not asking you to accept or deny my belief, I am just asking you to ponder on this probability and if by any chance this does happen what changes it could bring. Sorry I forgot to mention Prophet Jesus which Muslim believe would appear at the same time as Imam Mehdi does and they both will work hand in hand to bring peace to earth. But considering the current religious trend of Christians i doubt they would be as devoted to Prophet Jesus as Muslims would be to Imam Mehdi. I might be wrong but this is not the topic of the debate either.

It's interesting article but seriously as a Shiite Muslim myself I have not read such hadith that says a black man would appear in West etc.. I would appreciate if you can refer me to the source of this Hadith the article does not cite the source either.

Thanks for the Link. So the original article appeared on Forbes site. Meanwhile I am trying to verify the authenticity of this Hadith through Shia religious forums because I never came across it before.

I doubt you'll find it. There's this situation where people make up Hadith and suras and whatnot in order to pretend that the Koran is saying something about modern times - generally about someone the person making up the verse dislikes.

What makes it significant,in a sense,is that many people do believe in it?

I'm not saying it will change any course of events,as I believe Biblical prophecy will succeed whether anyone believes in it or not,but it is interesting,nonetheless!

Just like watching the following of the Maitreya,and people thinking he may be a savior.

The changes would not be so good. The first thing that would happen is that over 1 billion people would be killed because they will not deny Christ and convert to Islam. The second thing that would happen is that the world would be plunged into war never seen before in order to crush all the nations who will not bow to the Islamic supremacist theology as given by the 12th Imam. Next Sharia law would be instituted and women would disappear underneath full body coverings. They would be no different than cattle except nicer to keep around the house. The world would be thrust into the sixth century and remain there for some indefinite time. The Quran being as it is would allow followers to rape infidel women at will without punishment, take " whatever their right hand possesses. " and so on. And from there it just gets worse.

Iman Mahdi if he were to appear would stand beside Jesus according to what I have read.

Muslims believe the Mahdi will rid the world of error, injustice and tyranny alongside Jesus.

'How would it be with you when the son of Mary will descend among you and you will have a leader raised from among you?"

So what would you do if the Iman Mahdi were to stand beside Jesus and declare to the world that Jesus was the Messiah and the son of God?

What if the manifestation of the Mahdi was not actually the Mahdi? You speak about your devotion to your religion and how maybe Christians aren't as devoted to Jesus as you are to your faith...

In that case, what if every Muslim accepts the words of something that is 'posing' as the Mahdi. False order perhaps?

How could anyone tell millions of dedicated muslims they are wrong?

As a messianic-jew i would probably have to listen to jesus. LOYAL, could you point out some good articles or Quran passages about Imam Mehdi BTW? My knowledge on islam and its' various sects is very rudimentary.

@Fromabove : I am amazed by the ignorance or hatred of people against Islam, and believe me this is the reason why ordinary, moderate Muslims like myself is compelled to think that this is not the War on Terrorism rather it is war on Islam. How come you brought up slavery issue in this thread. Slavery was not invented by Islam, Didn't Christians or any other people have slaves at that time... this matter has been discussed over and over again. In short Slavery does not exist any longer therefore any Islamic laws that had existed in regard to dealing with slaves are no longer valid and i can't figure how it is pertinent to this thread.

Coming back to Topic, I want to make it clear the topic of thread is not whether the belief in reappearance of Mahdi is wrong or right. Since it's a conspiracy theory focused Forum therefore i brought up this thread here. Topic of the thread is, what changes the World possibly could see if he does appear.

I so far have been reluctant to give my view on this, because i might not fairly predict it since this relates to my own faith and I might be overzealous in my predictions. anyway here i go:

The region or country in which Mahdi appears would play significant role in regard to his influence, and considering the Prophet Muhammad prophecies he is most likely to appear in area today called 'afghanistan/iran'. So by any chance he appears in Iran he would instantly get control over the people since they are already waiting for this to happen. Mind you those Islamic prophecies are considered true among both shia and Sunni Muslims and are as old as 1400 years.

His appearance would result in instant revival Shia Islam in the World and people will flock to see him. Since i assume he would appear in Iran, Iran already being the largest Shiite Country in the World would have far more influence on that smaller Shiite population country. The first country embrace this effect would be 'Iraq' where Shia are in very good number and most probably Iran and Iraq would merge into one country or like United States of Shia like block.

So in short Shia or Muslims would try to unite under one banner this is exactly what has been prophesied as well in the old books.

And here is something that terrifies me, If sunni put his faith with him too then it would be unlikely to see any conflict among Muslims, but in my opinion the monarchist arab countries like Saudi Arabia would be extremly pissed off by this development. and There would be widespread war among Shia and Sunni unless Imam Mehdi avoids it. However if Shia do overcome Sunni by war or faith and grab bigger land + Oil (iran oil + iraq oil + saudi Oil + other arab countries oil) then it would instantly result in United states of Shia being the economic super power in the world. alright overzealous it might sound i already warned that

so now come the final part, because now it would be World Vs United Shia States. And I leave it up to you

And not to forget that Prophet Jesus is supposed to reappear at the same time, so before you make your prediction you can safely assume that he would be there by that time.
