So last night it happened, the first time in my life i dreamt of nuclear war, i was sitting down in the house at about 7pm, it was sunset.

Then all of a sudden i hear the classic nuclear siren, like one of the old ones (imagine the silent hill siren)

I got up and started for some reason to barricade the doors and windows and head for the center of the house, in the distance i saw two mushroom clouds, i gazed into the neighbours house and saw them kitting up with radiation suits and gas masks, i put mine on after hearing the nuclear fallout siren, which sounded in small bursts, i gas masked up and then awoke.

Pretty creepy dream, does anyone know the meaning to this?

I did about 3 months ago. It also took place in the early evening. I was up at the cabin my family went to as a kid. It was up near Alpena MI and near a military base because the planes flew over all the time. anyway in my dream we were just talking outside near the lake and we heard the sirens then 2 planes came flying over the lake but suddenly plunged into the lake about 200 yards from us (EMP?). So we ran inside but something was blowing the front door open and all the walls down as I ran for the laundry room. then boom I'm awake.

it was intense. I also remember that it must have been in 2012 because in my dream I remarked something like "No way so its really true..."

As your doctor, I advise you to take a break from ATS for a little bit. Also, turnoff the T.V. Bust out the radio, and take 4 doses of music a day.
Good Dreams.

Pretty creepy dream, does anyone know the meaning to this?

Personally I don’t think there is any meaning... we just dream about stuff, sometimes good, sometimes bad. However, I do realise that sometimes the dreams can be very vivid and can creep us out

I had a similar dream... in fact, mine is reoccurring.

Myself and my wife are on holiday in Spain. Some of the locals use their fishing boats for tours and fishing trips so we hire a small boat for the day. We sail out into the Mediterranean with the ship’s captain and a young boy, whom I assume is the captain’s son.

It's a great day of fishing, swimming and chillin
On the way back to the harbour it gets dark and we can see the lights of the coastal restaurants and bars reflecting off the water as we get closer. It’s a pretty sight and me and my wife snuggle closer as the cooler night air moves in. I hear the young boy say something in Spanish and look around to see him and the captain looking up at the sky.

My wife then says... "What’s that?"

I look to where she is pointing and see a white light with a small tail travelling, what appears to be slowly, through the night sky.

"Is it a shooting star" my wife asks.

I explain that is too slow for a shooting star "might be a plane" I explain, knowing that it’s probably not.
I then hear the young boy saying something again... this time his Spanish is faster and sounds more panicked. I look to the right of the boat and just above the horizon I see another light moving towards us slowly. Then I see another... and another. I suddenly realise that there are hundreds of these lights approaching from the east. I am hit with the realisation of what I am seeing. The fear and panic I feel at this point is indescribable.

This is the point where I always wake up!

It's a horrible dream that often leaves me shaken for hours after!

I believe the dream is just a manifestation of my deepest fears... Could it be a premonition?? I don’t know. I truly hope not

Weird Repulican08, mine was in DC.
So more people had simliar dreams?

Infact I remember the dream very well, only a few stick in my mind like this. I was walking through post apocalyptic Washington DC, most of the buildings were nothing more than ash, the streets were empty, no signs of life, an eerie atmosphere... the washington monument was broken in half, parts of the Captiol building collapsed, just the white house appeared in its full glory, still as white as it is now. So I made my way to it, entered the building and stumbled upon a group of high ranked military personal, discussing and pinpointing certain places on a map, although I didn't really get a closer look. And then it all went really fast, I looked out the window and saw a bright flash followed by a mushroom cloud and thats where it all ends.

I had a similar dream but it was set during a nuclear winter and I was not a nice person in it.

For what ever reason I was willing to kill anyone to survive. Not nice as I did not think my personality (one of co operation) would ever go that way but I suppose it depends on the circumstances. I have always though anyone could kill given the right motivation.

Once again 08 you have amazed me. What the hell is it with you kid.
I have a profound feeling that one morning you are going to wake up
and do a complete about face, as far as your beliefs go.
You're just to damn sharp.

Any way yes OP mine? I was in I think it was Aghanistan, in the middle of
a world war and there we're hundreds and hungreds of fighter f-16 style
jets overhead doing mach. First American then Isreali . Then they were all gone and it was Chineese and Russian Migs and they seem to be giving
chase. Who ever the guys I was with were, we hid out in this cave
and watched 5 nuclear flashes. The End.

Jeez.... for a second I thought the thread title was asking me if I'd ever had a Nuclear Wet Dream. I wondered if that was any different to a regular wet dream... but ummm.... nooooo... haven't had either of those.

Better get my eyesight checked!

i had a dream once where a nuclear bomb went off and me and my mum

were running away from it, and in my sleep i actually felt the heat on my

back and it actually woke me from my sleep. there was more to it than

that though, but i just thought it was unusual how it woke me up.

I actually had a bit of a strange one the other night, I was in my back garden and I thought I heard a fast military jet, looking up for some reason I identified it as a cruise missile, and there were a number more as I looked around the sky - they were heading west (I was in my back garden so I know where north is)... And then looking around the sky some more, at various places on the horizon there were the arcs from ballistic missile launches...

Don't remember what I watched on telly that night.

Yes, I've had this dream too.

I live in Oklahoma and ever since I was a boy I would have a recurring nightmare about being in the house where I grew up. In my dream I'm still 13 yrs old. We lived with my grand parents at the time.

Anyway, I'm walking thru the house and my Grandmother and Grandfather walk out on the front porch, and start looking around. The air is VERY still, no birds, no sound, nothing....the silence begins to kinda freak everyone out.

I remember my Mom and my Grandparents speculating as to what may be going on.

Our house faced due west and the AFB in OKC was/is approx 88mil due NW. Then all of a sudden the entire western sky gets brighter and brighter....then I see it....

Multiple Mushroom Clouds on the Horizon...everyone panics and runs back in the house. We all jump in the closets and thats when I hear the Air Raid Sirens, (although around here we call them Tornado Sirens, that's tornado ally for ya)....anyway....my Mom grabs me and my two brothers and says, 'This is it boys' and we duck down and I hear someone scream and then I jolt awake......SCARED THE CRAP OUTTA ME.

Ive had the dream since, (I'm 38 now), and the premise is the same but the location is different.

Paranoid Delusion? Simple Nightmare of worst Fear? Or are we all seeing some disastrous war in the future? Who knows....

I'll say this though...it creeps me out that you all have seen something similar in different places....

I don't know if it counts as nuclear war but here goes.

Age 13-15
I found my dad/father figure angry in the street yelling into the open air. I don't know why he was angry but be was angry at everybody and everything. I felt I was the only one that could calm him down, I plead for compassion but found myself powerless.

Then he started to glow red then bright like the sun. He ascended in to the sky and his anger intensified every second. The air started to boil to a red hue, the ground started to shake and buildings disintegrated slowly.

By this point he was screaming in absolute rage, the tension was unbearable. All I could do is stand there and watch as everything around me disintegrated. Then, BANG.

I woke up to a pouring sweat. To this day I've never had such an intense nightmare.

not really nuclear war, but i had a dream once about what i'm guessing was the end of the world. it was really weird. there was a lightning storm, and then there was the air raid sirens and then it hailed uncontrollably, soon after there was a brief silence then the sky or whatever it was sucked it all back up into the sky and then there was a flash of light that threw it all back down at once destroying everything. it was weird. i had another dream like that another time but in that dream there was a ship or something in the sky spewing fire. scary stuff. nothing out of the norm for a dream though. that's all it is, a dream, right?

After my first one I kinda # myself about this but I have loads now and dont think you should read to much into it unless 2million other people have the same dream on the same night !!

I think I have mine because when I was about 11 I found a book my dad had with a huge nuclear cloud on it about nuclear stratergy, you know the idea of mutual destruction. It scared the bejjjezus out of me when I read it and I think my dreams are rements of that.

If anyone could really interpret dreams they would be very wealthy !
