Passengers on a jet flying over the Caribbean have received a close-up look at a massive volcanic eruption sending ash and dust higher than the plane itself. The 737 jet was flying to the holiday destination of St Lucia when it passed the Soufriere Hills volcano on the island of Monserrat midway through its eruption, the Daily Mail reported.

Nope, not new, been going on for hours. The eruption site is behind Hekla. Before daylight you could really see the smoke from the eruption really lit up.

I have been watching that particular hekla cam for about a month now. Right now the camera is not pointed directly at hekla proper but rather off to the side. I believe that smoke is coming from the eruption at Eyjafjallajoku.
edit
now that I have looked again they have moved that camera a little since I last looked. That building you see on the far left is a silo type building that site directly in camera view when it is pointed directly at hekla. but in this view you can see heklas dome.
