Hey again, just wondering what anyones opinions were on the AFI song-prelude 12/21 or in fact the whole album-December Underground being a clue to our possible future? Please this is in no way an advertisement for this fairly ordinary album...

To me "prelude 12/21" seems to be a reference to the Mayan End Date, which isn't really that big of deal (it's a popular subject, I'd imagine.) but of course, I'm a big believer in the Rich and Famous knowing a lot more about the world and its inner workings then most think. "December Underground" caught my attention because of a whole bunch of theories and myths I've read about the ancients surviving the end of the last age by going underground.

The Second song "Kill Caustic" I believe Caustic means like light or beams of light or something along those line, so Kill Caustic sounds to me like theres a problem with the sun or something to do with a killing light. some lyrics "Connect to a three volt
I hope your battery dies. How could you run on such, on such voltage?" leads to sun dying or failing...

Theres also a song on the album called "Killing Lights" which seems a lot the aforementioned song. "37mm" anti-tank weaponry I'm sure I've heard about a giant war in 2012."Affliction" seems to indicate a disease, bio-warfare maybe?

Anyways now onto the album cover itself, it shows 3 rabbits in a triangle chasing one another this image can also be found on cave roofs in Duanhang this is the only site I could find mentioning them now they show many photos of the the drawings but as yet say they are unclear on the meaning of them, which again leads me to a lost age, and taking shelter underground or in caves, the background of the album also shows dead trees and the like.

Anyways to me it seems like Hollywood is again leaving behind clues to our future and these slightly androgynous emos know more they seem, but maybe I just have too much time on my hands...Well, I definitely have too much on my hands but still... Just wondering what anyone thinks about it, if at all and I apologize if this has been posted before.

Ok I didn't realize it about AFI, but I agree with your famous/rich people theory.

I have stopped to replay many of my favorite songs and found that they had some inner meaning that I hadn't realized the first 100 listens. (Artists that actually write their songs)

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Living Legends.

I must ad that we see this in movies too. Like the modern artists of the world are speaking to us through these mediums like movies and music.

For example, the movie Avatar that just came out. Obviously pleading with us to change our ways. What is most interesting about this movie is that it wasn't marketed as a treehugger's fantasy come true. It was marketed toward the action crowd. None of the previews give in a lick to what it is truly about.

The movie has actually been in the making since 1994. But, the developer decided to wait for technology to catch up.

Yeah its all over I think, I don't know if they're clues left by people in the know against it, or desensitization of some sort...
Ah, I haven't seen Avatar yet but it looks epic. I know the plot some and it does seem to be giving that message and of one that if we achieve space travel at this stage we would be the bad guys...

I know sometimes artists just pick a theme about songs they're writing but the 3 rabbits really got me for some reason, I don't know it just seems such an obscure reference to me. Maybe though, it's all just an over active imagination brought on by too many conspiracies lol.

I always think back to Sing the Sorrow when it comes to this... as an AFI fan of 7 years I know that Davey's song writing is made to be interpreted many different ways by fans.

Davey is actually a Rabbit in the Zodiac and rabbits stand for rebirth and immortality which both reflect things the band is very interested in. I mean... the 12/21 thing is absolutely a jab to world's end but it also could just refer to the darkest day of the year and simply that.

AFI has been unresponsive to questions about Religious beliefs and such although Davey wears an inverted cross but...

That's all I can offer. Honestly AFI are a bunch of very deep thinkers without handing out answers and a different way of looking t things so it could really be anything...

Dude! AFI!
Their early stuff was AWESOME, pre-suckage.

Having said that, maybe Davey's just into conspiracy theories.

oh! And I'd love to mention that there is talk about the rabbits resembling 7s so the three of them make 777 as in 555 (man) 666 (The devil) and 777 (God)
