I can't argue with you there. Why some Americans are so gullible that they can be convinced to stop thinking critically and see every world event as part of a government conspiracy. Otherwise intelligent people will fall into line to accuse anyone who dares think differently of being a disinformation agent.
Conversely, they will embrace those who offer an alternative to the govt's version of the events as honest, courageous patriots. It would seem to me that clear thinking people who seek the truth would be open to all points of view and not attempt to discredit anyone who refuses to default to the conspiratorial position as a knee-jerk reflex.
Clearly, there a great deal of gullible people within the American populace and they put their gullibility on display on this board on an hourly basis.

As I said a couple times (check it) there is something conflicting, maybe Haskell blending two events.
2) In a comment made Saturday on MLive.com, Kurt Haskell, a Taylor attorney, said he saw authorities handcuff a second man after a bomb-sniffing dog alerted them to something in the man's carry-on bag.
[U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman] Smith confirmed for MLive.com yesterday that a second person had been taken into custody, but today tells the News the person was a passenger on a different flight.
"There was a second person taken into custody, but it had nothing to do with Flight 253," he said. "They did see dogs, but again, it was a totally different incident."

Then don't fly. Drive your car to your destination. But because muslims decide they want to blow up planes there has to be measures to protect those non-muslims they are trying to blow up.

Yeah, that's it! Never mind that the government reversed themselves for the FOURTH time in a week and finally admitted that the Haskell's eyewitness account of the second arrested passenger occurred exactly as they described. The Haskells are probably lying to obtain vast fortunes from the news media.

What is interesting is to see within a week of this attempted act of terrorism how flakes start coming out of the woodwork. Madly hunting for inconsistencies in media reports, tracking the ownership of airport security to an Israeli firm, etc.
Even though the caught in the act terrorist and Al Qaida openly admit they were trying to blow up the plane - the brainwashed folk who reflexively pervert the truth and history cannot resist another opportunity to apoligize for murder and asskiss another Muslim terrorists - fabricating another Wicked US government - Israel fairy tale.
Sad? Pathetic? Ridiculous? Rotten? Insidious?

Yeah well, there are alot of confused woodworms out there. When they are found in the field they usually get a bloody nose, that's why they stay behind a computer.
The latest Zawahiri tape said something about France and Spain. So I wonder if the planes exploding over cities will include Paris and Madrid?

Yep, those damned eyewitness passengers who are almost killed just need to go along with the program and stop contradicting the government's version of events. Who cares if they object to lies and cover-ups?
These friggin' ingrates need to remember that the government always tells the truth and would never do anything to harm their citizens in order to start and perpetuate endless trillion-dollar wars.

Problem is conspiracists have been shown repeatedly to be liars and disinformation agents. Almost invariably they parade factoids and speculation to create fictional stories.
Typically they isolate selected myths, urban legends, garbled reports or confusions and try to create the impression of insidious plotting for which there is no tangible evidence.

Please point out the myths, urban legends and garbled reports. The government got caught lying AGAIN and they were finally forced to tell the truth -- at least as much as they're capable of. Maybe if more people like the Haskells came forward after 9/11, we could've avoided a couple of trillion-dollar "wars on terror" that have done nothing but kill millions of innocent civilians and piss off millions more who now seek revenge.

Its taking its toll because you cannot listen properly and comprehend that Haskel said it was the same guy he saw at amsterdam and at detroit.
www.detnews.com...
The Haskells told federal investigators they saw another man being questioned by federal officials and led away from the airport baggage area in handcuffs after a sniffer dog reacted to something in the man's carry-on luggage.
The couple said the man, who appeared to be in his early 30s and of Indian descent, was taken to a room for questioning and later led out of that room in handcuffs.
In previous statements to the media, Smith had said the Haskells' account was a composite of two events that occurred at the airport around the time passengers got off Flight 253. The incidents were unrelated to the terrorist incident, Smith had said.
[...]
The Haskells, who were questioned Tuesday by FBI agents at their law office, earlier told The Detroit News that Kurt Haskell saw Abdulmutallab in Amsterdam, Netherlands, apparently trying to board the flight without a passport.
Kurt Haskell said he saw a well-dressed Indian man, who was older than the Indian man arrested at Detroit Metro, attempting to negotiate with airline officials to get Abdulmutallab on the plane without a passport. He appeared to be trying to pass Abdulmutallab off as a Sudanese refugee, Haskell said.
Nigerian officials have said Abdulmutallab presented a valid Nigerian passport and multi-entry U.S. visa when he began his trip in Lagos.
