But if what I have heard is true, the NSA/CIA don't threaten you they threaten the lives of your family members. So you can sorta understand why people are too scared to speak up.

At OMNI magazine, which paid a lot of attention to UFO stories, we tried to track down any credible case where this had ever happened. We had a number of leads -- all were bogus.

This seems to be a 'simple solution' to the difficulty of first-hand eyewitnesses saying again and again that the 'space UFO stories' are bogus -- you have to smear the eyewitnesses as coerced liars, if you have any hope of believing the weird space stories that just feel so good to tell each other about. Real reputations of real heroes -- that's just 'collateral damage' to posturings of self-importance.

If what you say about threats to Neil's family is true, that is tough, but I think I will point to a fictional TV show on how he should handle it.

In the TV show Hercules, Hera's threats never stopped Hercules. She followed through on those threats but Hercules never gave in to fear of this happening and he continued to do good in the world not letting her acts of terror stop him.

Besides, the U.S. government will use any threats they can think of when trying to get their way, whether its the police or the military or an alphabet agency. That doesn't mean the govt will make good on those threats. None of the waterboarded prisoners were ever actually drowned for example.

G'day Jim....

It's nice to see you drop into this thread.

I am extremely interested in this UFO topic, whilst almost always landing on the critical / skeptical side of the argument.

I am wondering if you might feel inclined to offer your opinion as to what Neil Armstrong might have meant by his "layers of truth" comment.

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not

Yes and I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale to anyone who believes that.

Astronauts have made statements regarding the presence of UFOs for one thing. I absolutely believe Niel Armstrong knows a hell of a lot more than he is telling.

The real thing that frankly burns my butt is the BS with the imagery of the Moon and Mars. There is no valid reason for any image taken of either place to be classified..PERIOD. Also where are the high resolution images? Everyone has a real good idea of the resolution capabilities of satellites yet NASA gives us images that are crap resolution, color distorted, and tampered with.

Everyone is sick of it, we are sick of the lies and deception at all levels of government including NASA.

Your belief is not evidence.

Which statements by astronauts about the presence of UFOs on space flights do you think credible? And what did you do to check on the allegations? I don't mean checking on the claimed statement -- I mean, first, even determining of the statement as it appears on the Internet is authentic.

Has Neil Armstrong ever said or mentioned he has seen something out of the ordinary?

IMHO if Neil Armstrong has something to say & wants to say it, then he should, if humanly possible. BUT, if he has something that he DOESN'T want to tell us, for whatever reasons he has, then we should just respect his wishes & leave the man alone!

I can fully understand why he wants to be left alone more & more, the older he gets, the more he gets harassed by people who want to know if he "knows something more".

Neil Armstrong & all the other Apollo Astronauts are true heroes & should be treated that way, not bugged by conspiracy theorists every time they open their doors.

( of soapbox now )

With the exception of Edgar Mitchell. He opened his mouth and strange things came out but not from his mind but what he heard from others. If he had stuck to things astronautic he would not have been called a nut by some in here and other UFO forums.

Well.....

His speech (as per my link) could be regarded as a little cryptic & some might perhaps suggest it is hinting in that direction.

in order for esteemed people like Armstrong to talk, the culture and imposition of silence by those in higher authorities must ceased. The moon adventure had not been one of military conquest in need of secrecy, but a conquest on the capabilities of mankind. There was no requirement for anyone NOT to speak freely. US then, was not a totalitarian state.

Was there anything else on the moon? Only the astronauts know. We have credible evidences of decent people being mocked and having their careers destroyed, for simply reported what they saw, and some were even silenced.

I personally have no wish for anyone to be treated this way. They have families at home, and need to put food on the table. It would be better to follow orders and let the higher ups take the blame. Painful as it will be to hide the truth, but i have no wish to see anyone suffer further. Those responsible MUST be held accountable one day, if not by us, then it will be by our next generations. Those found out responsible will have their graves spat on for eternity.

There is already more than enough evidences, offered and suffered by millions so that we may know the truth, to put the issue of UFO to rest. Nations are already acknowledging such existances and their credible people are given the freedom to speak freely, a taboo subject no more.

Now it only rest on the other silent govts, to give up such totalitarian policies. And this we the People must seek accountability from our elected representatives. Only they have the power for 'change', or we the people will change them instead.

Being an 'Apollo Child' growing up with the 'Race for Space' between USSR and USA
I have the utmost respect for Neil Armstrong...I am totally on the fence:

I truly believe he is a honourable man...

A) would like to believe Apollo 11 did go to the moon... and he's shy and reticent and just is as he was on mission...cool, calm, collected, scientific etc...evidence

B)Other spin...cryptic message...maybe...anomalies with pics, data, messages etc...yet again evidence..

I truly believe that if Neil has anything to confront to the world it will be something he would disclose before his time is up....
'Truth' is certainly a word this guy upholds to......and to all the naysayers we could just find the evidence of the mission...
I sincerely hope Neil has many more years ahead of him...and if he feels there is somthing to be said...it will happen..

So with 37.8 million square km to land on, they picked a spot right where someone else had landed and planted a flag......
