CALEA directs the telecommunications industry to design, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions that meet certain assistance capability requirements.

Okay, so first off, what is the big deal on surveillance?

There are camera's at intersections pic taking and live feed.

Camera's on cop cars, shopping malls, convinent stores, in space.

If Big Brother really wanted to watch you he could from space with infrared vision or he could get into your cellphone or computer.

It sounds like what is going on is, people are needed to help direct/ maintain flow of information, create or pool it in a database, and make repairs to areas as necessary.

Don't spread to much fear on this topic, we are all being watched anyways, by Big Brother and the beings living on the back of the moon.
