Scientists have long known that the magnetic pole moves. James Ross located the pole for the first time in 1831 after an exhausting arctic journey during which his ship got stuck in the ice for four years. No one returned until the next century. In 1904, Roald Amundsen found the pole again and discovered that it had moved--at least 50 km since the days of Ross.

This is completely unrelated phenomena, magnetic north is still in canada, and you can't detect elctromagnetism (that isn't light of course.) Otherwise if this phenomena is related [to electromagnetism] anyone who had sunlight come into contact with them would have this "On a ship" feeling.

I live in the U.S... in North Carolina. The phenomenon you described about feeling like the ground underneath you is moving,. like being on a boat. I have felt that twice this past month.
I described it as a floating on water feeling to my family. None of them have felt anything. It is not the first time I have experienced this very strange feeling.
I told my family that I felt the earth move and since none of them felt it, they said it didn't. That it was my imagination going wild. Thanks you for your post. Maybe now they will believe me.

I'm not a skeptic or anything, but this had me wondering. how long has it been moving? and if it has been moving for at least a year shouldnt compass' and things of that nature already be showing changes?
