Contacting E.T.

I know that we are looking for aliens and broadcasting our presence right now, but how do we know that E.T. communicates with what we are looking for? So far we are only looking for radio waves and light, and sending out messages with light and radio waves, but why only those? Couldn't there be some unknown energy that they communicate with, and non of our censors pick it up? Or maybe they just communicate with thought. It just seems stupid to me that we spend all that money on those things and they could be communicating with different technology.

I read somewhere SETI was set up to fail because they use radio waves. Radio waves loose their strength over distances and isn't a ideal way to communicate with ET in the vastness of space.

I'm pretty sure ET would use something more advanced when looking for other civilizations.

I personally think SETI is going about it all wrong. However, they are searching for ET, so their intentions are good! But I think they should diversify the signal and send out every known communication type that we know of. There may be more implications than I am aware of, but that is how I would go about it. here is some info I found a while back, about why SETI isn't the most effective way to search.

For a radio circuit to be established, it is necessary to generate a signal, transmit that signal through space, recieve that signal in a reciever sensitive enough to perceive that signal amidst the "noise" (self-generated interference) that every receiver generates, or the radio noise that comes from natural cosmic sources (or, in some cases, man-made noise). That noise has to be overcome by making the signal strong enough to overpower the inherent noise of the receiver, which is the result of the laws of physics and can be minimized to some degree, but not eliminated. Additionally, the farther the signal travels through space, the more of it is lost through spreading out - a problem called "path loss." It is why distant headlights are more faint than close ones. So a communications circuit, whether man made or one being conducted with extraterrestrials, has to overcome these two problems - receiver noise and path loss.

I also think SETI is going about it wrong, but meh. If life is as prolific as we think it might be, they may ignore worlds posting radio signals of all things.

But it's not necessarily a bad thing. I am unsure if it's very wise to willy-nilly wave around a flag and say "HERE WE ARE!" There could be many species whose warlike or more predatory nature may be looking for something just like that. We are taking a great risk by blindly jumping up and down. In the grand scheme of things, we are fairly helpless.

As you suggest, 'It is stupid' SETI is a front. ET's interacting on Earth have the capability to record/monitor and listen to all stations/channels of 'Thought'.

There was a great cartoon many years ago, I think it was a Klieban, but not sure, and I would like to have a copy of it today. Anyway, it goes like this...

The first frame shows a family driving throught the countryside and comming across a herd of cows in a pasture, they all open the window and say "Moo"

The second frame shows the same country scene with a family in a field by a lake, having a picnic. A UFO is flying over the scene, and the 2 ET's in the craft are hanging out the window, and say.. "Moo"

Kind of sums it up.

If you want to meet an Alien, simply hang out near some woods at night. After a few hours, rest assured one will pop out behind a tree claiming, "Hi I'm an Alien, would you like to see my space ship".

You do not need SETI to make contact and the last thing you want to use is a radio transmitter because I am of the strong opinion that ET uses thought to communicate and any messages that NASA or the NSA might pick up (2004’s key to the extraterrestrial messages) is ET’s attempts to dumb themselves down to us and throw us a bone so to speak. We might use Morse code in the age of the internet if we have to but we prefer to use the internet. I belive ET have their preferences also.

To make your own contact, pick a clear night away from built up areas or even better take a walk away from civilisation to a point where light pollution and human interruption is minimised.

Lie down on your back and get comfortable and then meditate while staring at a star that is close to being above your head. Imagine a thin stream of consciousness as a golden thread lancing up from your forehead between and just above your eyes.

Lance this stream of consciousness at the star as a focus point and up to where atmosphere touches space about two hundred miles and then at that point; imagine a disc spreading out from the contact like oil on water.

Your thoughts travel the thread of golden light to manifest and spread across the surface of the disc, friendly words like love, your name, please show me because I am peace, and help us help ourselves because we suffer while you watch from afar... That sort of stuff but keep the thoughts positive and light because positive energy attracts positive energy.

No instant results and expect no instant success but keep it up and for me I saw two UFO’s “decloak” with twin white flashes of intense diffuse light within an hour and right after that I was given a light show I will remember for the rest of my life and a feeling of euphoria that has never been felt before – a feeling of intense connection and a buzzing in my ears “you have been noted/noticed?!?”.

I have seen more UFO’s since then (2008 8th may 03:00) with witesses.

Do not take my word for it, I would prefer you did not, think of me as a wacko even but at least try it, you might just be very glad you did.

This is similar to how it started for me, after watching a Dr Greer(who I am now a bit suspicious of) lecture I meditated on the face of a grey and had 3 sightings over a space of a few months. Sure, meeting an alien is one thing but are you ready psychologically to see an actual alien? Can you handle seeing an alien? That's the question now.

Instead of wasting money using the technology we have.. let's use that money on sending messages with technology.. we.. don't.. have?

A tech exists in my thoughts that I think aliens would use to communicate throughout the universe. It is the tech of knowing how each sub atomic particle interacts with another subatomic particle on a universal scale. If an alien can predict how a particle is going to react, it can reverse predict what already happened. So, in a millions of billions of years of tech advances of an alien people, they would know what happened , what will happen, and why it happened. All that is necessary is to learn subatomic interaction prediction.
With a couple of half way to infinity calculations, one could predict what is happening on the other side of the universe, what did, and what will.

That is the future of communication. I think.

It leaves radio in the dirt a bit.

Bingo. Some (at least) do communicate w/ telepathy & telekinesis. This is how things like the ouija board & pendulum work. The pendulum is just straight-up telekinesis. The board is a combination.

I don't think I would have the nerve. I've read plenty of stories about ET's that aren't exactly pleasant experiences. Who knows what these Aliens might look like or their intentions towards you. Sounds way too risky.

sphinx551 makes a good point. I bet if most people came across an Alien that was ugly and grotesque, they'd automatically assume that it's malevolent and would probably attack it or run like hell.
