Internet...Dare you to disagree!!

First of all, Happy Holidays everyone

As my title states... I dare you to disagree!!, earlier tonight i had some friends over that i have not caught up with for yonks.

We chatted , we debated, we got drunk and inevitably turned to my laptop to search for an outlet, now some of your first thoughts may have been 'porn'!!

LOL, as some of you may be correct, there were i few gals in the house aswell. So music and reminissing was on most of our minds....

What a great night we had listening to the songs that created us, no matter the Genre, no matter the Era, there were all types at my house this evening.

Upon sitting back watching my guests enjoy there night so thoroughly, i felt so overwhelmed. No piracy was used during this Euphoria, just YouTube.

Honestly!!! This thread is a YAY for the internet! What would this site be without it??!

Xmas Eve...Top Night

I remember when I was younger and I had to sit at the tapeplayer waiting for a song to come on that I liked. I always got these clunky sounds as I hit record, so I'd record and pause, and await there ready to lunge at the pause button if a song came one.

I couldn't control the order, you just never knew. Sometimes the start or the end of a song would get cut off, and make sure you had a window you could see through to see how far along the tape it was.

Then one day a while back, I downloaded some songs and burnt them to a disc. As I sat there on the couch with the newly acquired tunes blaring through my house speakers I just cried. Tears of joy, you have no idea.

I new it was possible, I just had to wait all those years for it to come true.

...and then I learned you can play mp3's in a car stereo..just wow...

...and catching up on a missed tv show, no longer waiting months for a rerun....

The good old days were not as good as they tell you.

OMG Seiko, you pretty much sumed it up for me right there, thank you. The good old days were great, lets admit, but you couldnt just pull up yr fav song at the click of a finger hey!!!

And to all you Righteous Natzi's, looking songs up on Youtube is NOT pirating!!!!

What would we be? bookworms?? maybe? i hated those days of looking through Encyclopedia Britannica, the internet is just Marvellous;

My point in this thread is beyond proven....... The way its slipped throught the recent posts list like its nothing....

The fact is, we already take the internet for granted.....let me add, as quickly as it was given to us, it can be just as simply taken away from us.

I agree the internet has probably been the best thing created since sliced bread. When in human history have people from all walks of life, Religion, Race, Creed and locations discuss, debate and argue this freely on varying topics?

We can now follow Elections in far away lands, Conferences are

at our fingertips.

Like wise minded people can share ideas globally.

Well I feel sorry for those who live behind the great firewall.
