Ufos are real. What are they is the question.

On May 11, 1962 NASA pilot Joseph Walker said that one of his tasks was to detect UFOs during his X-15 flights. He had filmed five or six UFOs during his record breaking fifty mile high flight in April, 1962. It was the second time he had filmed UFOs in flight. 

During a lecture at the Second National Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space Research in Seattle, Washington he said:

"I don't feel like speculating about them. All I know is what appeared on the film which was developed after the flight."

To date none of those films has been released to the public for viewing.

All Apollo and Gemini flights were followed, both at a distance and sometimes also quite closely, by space vehicles of extraterrestrial origin - flying saucers, or UFOs, if you want to call them by that name. 

Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission Control, who then ordered absolute silence."

"February 20, 1962: John Glenn, piloting his Mercury capsule, saw three objects follow him and then overtake him at varying speeds."

During his five months stay on the MIR Russian space station, NASA astronaut Dr. Jerry Linenger saw unidentified objects in space several times, according to his own statement.

"I have been asked that question so many times. In five months in space, I have seen unidentified flying objects for sure.

Major Cooper is totally convinced that UFOs do exist and that some of them are of extraterrstrial origin, and does not keep this secret; but not because he had seen them personnaly in space. Ten years earlier, in 1951, he had sighted UFOs while piloting an F-86 Sabre jet over Western Germany.

"For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public.

In June 1965, astronauts Ed White and James McDivitt were passing over Hawaii in a Gemini spacecraft when they saw a weird-looking metallic object. The UFO had long arms sticking out of it. McDivitt took pictures with a cine-camera. Those pictures have never been released.

Ufos are real, but don't take it from me. Take it from these guys.

Interdimesional beings are in the so called probes. I believe they are way past the studying phase. I think they are almost at the revealing stage.

I'm going with what Dr.J. Allen Hynek's conclusion was.
"It's simply the answer that fits all the facts the best.
They are demonic."

Of course they are real... it is only the brick walls that deny that much.

The problem we face in the UFO community is the same that all do in nearly every sector of modern society: extremism.

It is just damned hard to find anyone who will say 'Hmmm, that's interesting' anymore. Instead, we get those who immediately label it as this or that without even a tenth the information of those who have studied this for decades.

Today, it is either a a fake or a fact without so much as a Turd's Degree in common sense behind the declaration. The immaturity level is rising at the same rate of the sightings.

Hell, I know I am not young enough to know everything anymore but... there is just a serious vacuum of logic lately!

UFO certainly exist. I am 100 percent sure that if i will see some top secret aircraft prototype - for me it will be unidentifiable flying object. Also i am positive that the best way to hide something is to have it in the open under different name. Don't you find it strange that in late 60s-70s-80s a lot of reports about triangular UFOs appeared - well in the development schedule of F-117,B-2 and such.
Majority of UFOs are certainly just that. Maybe on rare occasions it is not made by us.Or US. . However i will bet on it being our time traveling cyborg grand kids on a school trip before i will consider dimensional monsters or especially aliens who come from very very very very far to mutilate bunch of cows. Time travelers will probably need space ship to get in same location/different time since Earth/Sun/Milky way fly with great speeds and not remain in the same spot.

Hi Zero. Ufos certainly do exist and some are from us while some are seriously wierd and are literally out of this world. Having seen quite a number including those in my avatar my answer would be - Something over our heads and probably something we can not understand at the moment with our limited intellect while being something that the worlds religions have based themselves on.

When we say interdimensional beings, that means they were born a dimension higher than ours? I can fathom interdimensional technology, but I think the rumors/evidence is pointing towards ET's from Space, not a different dimension.

With all the satellites orbiting our planet, and hearing someone in another thread the other day posting the theory/rumor that there are beacons in Space that give visiting ET's protocol for visiting Earth, it all seems so reasonable.

I think it is simple as many races visitng Earth, and not this complex mystery of Grey Aliens and Reptillian Aliens controling our planet. Anything is possible, and with that said, who knows what is going on in Space, really....

I have read several articles and documents about and written by Hynek and I have never heard him mention ETs are demonic. Please enlighten me, perhaps I missed something

"Real" UFOs (those that aren't military craft, unidentified weather or other phenomena, delusions or hoaxes) are currently considered to be:

1. We don't know what they are.
2. Alien beings, organic creatures, that exist in roughly the same kind of reality we do.
3. Time travelers.
4. Travelers from other unseen but co-existing dimensions.
5. Physical manifestations of thought.
6. Effects associated with angels, demons, and other supernatural entities.
7. Psychological effects inherent in human thought.
8. An effect of a greater reality completely beyond our capability of perceiving or understanding.

At the moment, "we don't know" tops the list. That's because positive proof (not circumstantial, or "it can't be anything else") indicated by the available evidence is essentially non-existent.

Yes, there is evidence. Even unverifiable eyewitness accounts are evidence. But as of today, all the evidence we have adds up to a huge question mark. Nothing provides positive proof of anything, and #8 on the list above begins to look like the most reasonable and logical "explanation," or lack thereof.

There's also :
- Plasma lifeforms, "critters",
- Macroscopic quantum manifestations (whatever that is),
- Gaïa manifesting herself about environmental issues (New Age),
- Beings co-existing with us, hidden underground or in the oceans.

I completely believe in UFO's, & extraterrestrials, etc...I have seen a few things in the night sky that I could certainly not explain. However, let's face it, there are some things that people see that can can be explained & are most certainly either our own craft, experimental test planes, etc, or other phenomena, yet, I'll bet the farm that other things we see are NOT from our Earth, but from elsewhere. We can't be the only thing in space. That would be completely ignorant of us to think that way.

I would have to respectfully disagree with what you said there.

As I understand it, what you're saying is that what we can't explain in terms of sightings, can't be explained by "military craft, unidentified weather or other phenomena, delusions or hoaxes"

Why not? On what basis can you make a blanket statement that every unidentified flying object past and present that has ever been seen can not be one of the things that you listed above?

You said "we don't know tops the list" later on, but this contradicts what you said earlier... If "we don't know" how can you know it's none of the above?

Are you privy to every military secret? Are your senses so finely tuned that you can instantly detect that a report is a hoax and not real with 100% accuracy every time? Can you tell with absolute certainty from reading a report if a person is deluded or not?

I do however agree with you on point 8, that you and many others here are having difficulty understanding reality. In particular, that the universe we live in is both amazing and strange anyway without having to have "higher beings" or whatever you want to call them visiting here.

Oh? Says who? Any evidence of 'silencing' astronauts by Mission control? Transcripts? Radio communications? Intercepts? Nix!

I can say that NASA believes that most are space critters. They believe that sometimes these space critters do come in our atmosphere, and just like your typical summer time lightning bugs, some put off light. They have been trying for years to catch one, as of 2001 no such luck.

Yeah,...that's a good one.....asking on ATS what UFO's are....

As to what the UFOs are, fastest way to do that is to eliminate what they are not. Best place to start is to determine if they are the result of EBE's visiting our planet or not. Evolution should help out on this one - assuming any EBE's would be just as much the product of evolution elsewhere as we are here. Any organism that results from evolution will be forever accompanied by a swarming ocean of microbes and viruses that evolved right along with the host EBE. There is no way to completely get rid of these little companion life forms no matter how hard you scrub - we have something like two microbial or viral cells in our own bodies for every cell that is actually ours. Oh and a lot of them it turns out can survive space travel quite well. So if we actually have been visited by EBE's, there should be alien DNA evidence right here on our planet. The way one would search for this evidence is a Craig Ventner style effort to survey and sequence microbes in our environment, checking for anything that could be alien DNA. Maybe testing instruments could be deployed on board RC aircraft and flown around at a sequence of points in the manner of a biological transect survey to check the air, RC craft deployed in a similar way to survey bodies of water, etc.. We will either confirm there is no DNA evidence of EBE's or we will find something quite interesting.
