I couldn't tell you if it is genuine,

And, yet, you did! ModestThought: "this part is fake"

it is just very easy to see that someone has taken one piece of literature and added more to it to fit their views in an attempt to forward their own agenda. You wouldn't by any chance be to one who is doing that, would you?

Perhaps, indeed! So, Tantalus, was "too" misspelled and paranthetical commas omitted on purpose - with intent to reveal forgery on the most cursory of examinations - or was it brute composition by a simple ignoramus who can't spell or use grammar? And what agenda is someone - me, if you like - forwarding by interlocking genuine text with obviously fake text? And why do you assume that the first part, also, is genuine as opposed to forgery by a more skilled writer, or, forgery by the same writer not intentionally self-limiting his style?

o i get it. maybe you just can't type very well. So I retract the misspelling as evidence of forgery. But the literary style clearly changes and the quality is diminished greatly between the two parts I distinguished. I guess the use of the word fake should also be retracted. I used the term because the quality of the writing in the top half is so much greater than the bottom. The top being the part I read 1st, made it, in my mind, the original document, and the bottom part the thing that was added.

It's patently obvious both the sentence structure and the elegance of composition (as you've pointed out) of the part you've highlighted are markedly inferior to the preceding part. Until you reconfigure your synapses to get past action and move to intent, though, you'll be left to obsessing over message board conspiracy theories, never with any hint of satisfaction.

What does that even mean?

Can you be a little more clear?

nope

“The publicizing of those secrets I do not deem a boon to men, excepting those initiates who are able to discover them with no more than a given hint. For the others it would produce a stupid derision, or else a self-glorification in the mistaken idea that they have eaten wisdom with spoons.”

I love it when people on here try to act like they have a deeper knowledge and understanding of the true mysteries of life than other people. The truth is no one actually knows.

On this, I don't obsess over conspiracy message boards, I enjoy the new perspectives I gain through this site on many issues that mainstream media doesn't touch. Intent is nothing without action. If I intend to buy you a Ferrari but never get around to it, do you have a Ferrari from me? no, you do not. I agree I am not satisfied because I have no desire to be satisfied.

You have presented no wisdom in any of your posts and don't lie to yourself saying you have. You should pay attention to the quotes you use. The information known by members of any fraternity is only valuable to them. They alone have gone through the education necessary to truly understand the knowledge they are given. All of this knowledge, regardless of what organization, is in the form of literature. The literature is a guide to how worthy men should live their lives, always striving for an ideal but never reaching it. What you are doing here and presenting information that you know nothing about. I hope you enjoy your spoonful.

Uh, Karen - that's a quote by Plato. If you have an issue with it you should probably take it up with him. Thanks, hon!

Listen Steve, I don't care who said it, I was merely pointing out that either you don't understand it, or choose not to agree with it because you are playing the part of the self-glorifier.

Also, Stacey - you kind of annoy me. For that reason, please post which house to which you belong, since you apparently do, so I can post some of your ritual secrets.

We're all here for the same purpose - to shine the light of truth and justice on secret societies. I'd like yours to be next to get the light-up treatment. THX!!!!!

XOXO,
- /a/

Mary, I annoy you because you have nothing else to say. I belong to Delta Iota Kappa. Have fun with that one. I know you like them alot.

c'mon, sweetie - tell me 4 realz, yo ... whaddya have to hide? besides - as you noted - i sprinkle everything here with 50% truth and 50% make-believe; I promise I'll do the same for you ... tell me your house and I'll choose one choice ritual secret to post, but sauce it with something patently fabricated ... that gives you plausible deniability (alternatively, out the name of any other secret society you belong to whose secrets you'd more prefer i post)

don't be scared - tell us

help us "reject ignorance" - help us shine the light of truth into the darkest recesses ...

While the review of both of your replying posts has been comedic, the banter isn't really necessary anymore. Not to offend anyone, but less pissing and moaning. on both parts would be good, 'mmm kay'?

apologist - I have read the thread for a second time, and my input is this:
to quote Dickens, "Please, sir, may I have some more (porridge)?"

No, you may not. I'm vain and emotional and I intend to go and pout now.

(I will make an exception if Karen posts his fraternity name. Then I'll go to town on it like a horny Bonobas monkey on a stuffed rabbit. They'll have to write a new GD ritual book by the time I'm finished outing everything.)

EDIT - unless Karen and I happen to be fratres ... wouldn't that be a riot

How do you still not understand there are no secrets, just ideals to strive for through your life for the betterment of yourself and your fellow man. The only thing secret is the exact wording of the same message, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I don't know how much clearer I can be. Maybe give me your address and I can send you a picture book or something.

Max, you don't happen to be a member of the order now do you?

Since Karen won't come clean I've randomly selected a house to proxy for him. Once again, this is in keeping with the mantra of this site: DENY IGNORANCE. ("ignorance" = "the state of being unaware")

Spreading awareness causes a cessation of "being unaware." Therefore, by spreading awareness I am denying people the opportunity for ignorance and carrying forth the best traditions of Above Top Secret. I am, however, severely perturbed that people here are not coming to my defense when I'm chastised for denying ignorance. That people are letting slide posters who are demanding I stop outing secrets or have my threads shut down because they expose secrets. Are you all talk, and no walk?

Annnywho, my choice of proxy is ...

DELTA CHI

you can find one morsel of theirs I've randomly chosen in the appropriately titled thread I've started in this forum.

And now you're cut-off. Your decision not to back me when I was accosted by these ignorance enforcers means the spigot of information is being shut down. You will get no more fraternal secrets but, more than that, you will neither advance to the more consequential secrets of the more substantive groups to which these organizations serve as feeders.

GOOD.

BYE.

no, but you're just lucky your absence of reply until now caused D-Chi to take the fall for you ... besides, you and General Lee's prodigies have really nothing useful; you folks are like Napoleon ... self-crowned royalty who are not part of "the club" ... Napoleon was never allowed to marry into the major European royal houses because he was nouveau trash ... sorry, I don't mean to offend you but your choice of fraternity is a choice of a meaningless social club - not a higher order working toward a transcendent goal like the antebellum fraternities

also, your conversation with me hasn't been very gentlemanly, I have to say ... how do you know I'm not some whorish southern belle looking for a gallant knight?
