I'm surprised that you are surprised about what Obama says. By now all should realize he just mouths whatever his masters output to his teleprompter. The man has no "core values" whatsoever. He makes this statement while passing a $1.1TRILLION dollar spending bill, talks about more bailouts and lobbies for and increase in the debt limit!

When W entered office, the US was in a surplus. When he left, the US was in a deficit like it hadn't seen since 1929 and was heading hard into a recession.

The reason this is not outright hypocrisy is the health care reform bill is not just reckless spending in their minds, it is an investment.

It will create an new revenue stream for the government in the form of mandatory minimum health care costs. $1.1 trillion is nothing compared to the amount of money public health care will rake in. 1.5K per person, per year with fines for non-compliance. Similar to income tax and payroll tax, the corporate elitists are squeezing money out of the individual to fund globalization through the use of the military and now climate change.

It is laughable that you think Obama or Bush are to blame. They are yes men and figureheads who come and go while we argue left vs right. Obama has no real power. He has advisers, the same Bush and Clinton had. The same economic ideology Regan had, New World Order. It's all a big joke, and its on us. They are all screwing us over for the sake of globalization. They have done it for 100 years. It's a ploy, there is no democracy. The US is a corporation and you are an employee.

The last two decades have shown nothing but a progression towards global dominance perpetrated by individuals and groups inside the government, regardless of party affiliation (i.e. RINOS), and supported by international corporations.

Forget about Obama, go to the source. The corrupt government is to blame. STOP THE SYSTEM! We need to move on from capitalism and communism, they are outdated. We need a new system.

And your alternative is what? As far as I can tell a massive outlay of Federal Cash (initially proposed by GW) was the only thing that kept the U.S. from spiralling into a depression.
And the plan is that huge spending on the front end (now) will revitalize the economy and and a revitalized economy will reduce the deficit.
Works for me, high deficits now are to be expected, and have materialized under this plan.
Honestly, I don't get all the fuss.
That's the way it goes, and VP Cheney said a long time ago that deficits don't matter. I don't necessarily agree but if you own a 401k you really can't argue with Obama's results so far. The dow is back over 10,000 all the time and jobs numbers are getting better (but admittedly have a long way to go). His statement is simply an expression of the fact that this is only a short term infusion of federal cash.
In the longterm we need a reinvigoration of U.S. industry, and sound banking reform so that no account industry can be controlled. I blame the repeal of the glass/steagall (thanks Phil Gramm) act not Obama.
